The work of raising children is daunting, often thankless labor. For all of the involvement men are now showing in the rearing of their children, in most instances the mother is still the default parent. Even if the father takes a more hands-on approach, in most instances, the mom is the one who carries the child for nearly a year. Because growing a person in your body is no easy feat, and all those feelings can be heightened when you’re a pregnant mom.
The physicality, hormones, and energy it takes can be overwhelming. Sadly, many women keep these emotions to themselves, often feeling alone or like they’ll be judged for their admission. Recently, one husband captured a his pregnant wife’s true feelings in a rough moment. The NSFW video went viral.
The video shows a pregnant woman venting to her husband.
In the video, a pregnant mom whose face is obscured paces across her room, talking to her husband in a vulnerable moment. “I don’t want this baby,” she says shaking her hands. She continues, “I can’t do this. I already got two f—ing kids. I barely even want those two kids. I’m out of the ordinary right now. I don’t want these kids. I don’t want none of these kids.” At this point, her husband interjects with a question: “What you going to do then, because we’re not doing an abortion?”
‘It’s too much for me,’ the woman says.
Through tears the mom says, “It’s not even about an abortion, it’s about me not wanting to be a mom no more. I don’t want to be a mom at all.” Her husband asks what caused her to come to this conclusion. “What made you not want to be a mom? Because the baby’s always crying? You got to wake up?”
She responds, “It’s too much. It’s too much for me.” At this point she starts coughing, likely due to her crying. Her husband says, “You doing the most for what? Choking and stuff, for what? All because of some kids that you sat down and had.”
The woman said she’s not strong enough.
The mom continues her lament saying, “I don’t want to do it. I’m not strong enough.” “Yes you is,” her husband retorts. Then she picks up again, “My body looks horrible. These three kids are f—ing my body up. I don’t have it in me no more to be a mom.”
Before the video made its way to the internet, the husband posted it with a caption. “My wife is crying because she doesn’t want nun of our kids and she is pregnant with our baby.” He also asked other people on the internet, “Do any1 ever feel like dis?”
The people online had a lot to say about her husband.
The internet can be a nasty and unforgiving place. Thankfully though, most people had empathy and even grace for this struggling mother. The person they judged in the video was her husband who instead of comforting her, seemed to be exploiting her vulnerabilities by recording.
“This momma’s whole life has changed providing offspring to THAT man,” one woman wrote, breaking down the absurdity of his actions. “He is lying in bed, secretly recording her at her lowest, calling her ‘bro’ and basically telling her to suck it up. It’s insensitive and unsupportive. She’s giving life to his babies, and he isn’t pouring back into her— in the least.”
Another woman implored the husband to do something other than film her. “She loves her babies , She just needs help , Help Her !” another Threads user wrote. “She’s Overwhelmed. She needs to be reminded she’s Strong . She needs a hug…Stop recording her.”
People explained how he could comfort her.
Someone else offered a translation: “I hear a mother who is scared, emotional, tired, and brutally honest about where she is presently—but not exactly she truly feels in her heart,” they wrote. This user also had some words for this mother’s husband: “Go console her ‘bro’! Positive affirmations. Kiss her and tell her she’s gorgeous and not alone. I understand her words are concerning and maybe in need of counseling. But this isn’t funny to me.”
