Dad’s Hilarious Reaction to His Partner Giving Birth to New Baby Goes Viral on Facebook

As many mothers know, giving birth, like any other aspect of parenting, is not for the faint of heart. Well, one dad in Arkansas proved it, with his hilarious facial expressions captured in photos while his partner was in labor with their third child. The photos posted on Facebook have been shared over 5,000 times and received nearly 2,000 comments. To the father’s credit, he appeared to be supportive, helping his partner by holding her foot, as seen in some of the photos.

The couple, Brett Sills and Amanda Renee’, shared they weren’t expecting the photos to get so much attention, per 21 Alive News. The family is now back home from the hospital with their baby Brynlee and doing well, the outlet reported.

It’s no secret, the delivery room can be a traumatizing place, but we're sure whatever this father was seeing to elicit his facial expressions was infinitely worse for his partner.

When asked about his reactions to his partner giving birth, the father, Brett replied, “I don’t know. I was just shocked. Watching a baby being born,” reported 21 Alive News.

Considering how shocking it probably felt for his partner to give birth to their baby — because we all know it's still a shock every time — his reply seems quite funny. Amanda evidently found it entertaining. She shared the photos on Facebook and posted it with the caption, “you didn’t see everything I seen.”

Statistically, many fathers may not even make it into the delivery room, so kudos to this dad for seeing this through.

According to a study published in medical journal The Open Nursing Journal, about 54% of fathers were present in the delivery room during their partners'/wives' labor, which is an increase from recent years. The study also found that support from a partner had a positive effect during the birthing process.

So despite the father’s funny responses, his presence was hopefully helpful for his partner and for that, he should get a round of applause.

Amanda said she was going to frame the photos.

Amanda clearly has a great sense of humor, because when she saw his reaction she said, “We didn’t even look at them until I got back into the room, and I was like ‘I have to post these.’” Not only did she share them, but she also reportedly said she was going to have the photos printed and framed, 21 Alive reported. Those photos will certainly make for a memorable baby album.

Facebook users had hilarious comments about the dad’s reaction.

The comments on the photos were almost as comical as his facial expressions were.

“And this is exactly why when my husband wanted to 'watch', I clamped my knees together and told him if he didn't get up by my head, I wasn't going to push!” one user commented.

“Here from the news article, my man's horrified lmao,” commented another.

“This is priceless," one person wrote. "Thank you for posting. My husband is deep asleep, it’s almost 1 a.m. here, and I busted out laughing at your husband's precious face. Oops.”

“Baby he so traumatized!” added another.
