Mom Crochets Tiny Outfits To Dress Newborns as Disney Characters & It’s Cuteness Overload

There are a few things in life that seem to be universally understood as cute. Baby kittens and puppies are always adorable. When we see grandparents express their love for each other, it's heartwarming — no debate. And then there are newborn babies. These innocent tiny squishes have little heads and big eyes, tiny fingers and toes, and they're so cuddly. Because newborns are so precious and yet grow so fast, newborn photography has become a very popular profession.

But what happens when we add Disney characters to the mix? The cutest photo shoots for babies ever! One mom has been creating the perfect outfits for newborn Disney princesses to rock during their big moment. Margaret Domingo is a mom of two boys, and she's been creating amazing Disney looks and sharing them on her Instagram page and for sale on her Etsy store, The Yarn Mermaid. Her feed is full of tiny babies dressed as beloved Disney characters in handmade costumes, and it's like a cuteness overload.

Baby Jasmine From 'Aladdin'

How beautiful are this mama and baby both dressed up as Jasmine? Margaret created the crochet outfit for the little one, and she thought of every small but important detail. The hat looks like Jasmine's updo with the jewelry headband, and she's got the shoes perfect as well.

Carl From 'Up'

Here we see this little dude is dressed up as Carl from the Disney Pixar movie Up! The hat is an exact look the crotchety but lovable old man wore while he flew his home with balloons to his dream location.

Margaret said she was inspired to do this collection of Disney crochet outfits because she's a big fan of Disney, specifically her "lifelong love of all things," she tells CafeMom.

King Triton From 'The Little Mermaid'

This is Margaret's son dressed up as King Triton. She tells us that this is one of her favorite outfits of all the ones she's created so far.

"When I first got pregnant I thought I wanted a baby girl to dress up in all the pretty sparkly outfits and of course do a beautiful mermaid photo shoot!" she wrote in the caption on Instagram. "But I was destined to be a boy mom so here's my King Triton!"

Aladdin

Aladdin was another favorite for Margaret, and it's one of our favorites too. Again, she thought of every detail from the movie we all fell in love with, and it shows her love for the Disney franchise and stories. She even thought to crochet a lamp to complete this outfit, and posing her son on the carpet makes it more magical.

Ariel From 'The Little Mermaid'

"I've been so grateful and excited to create these outfits for fellow moms who want to inject some Disney magic into their newborn shoots," Margaret tells CafeMom.

She has created Disney crocheted outfits that let other parents enjoy the magic that comes alive with their own photo shoot. The headband is just too darling.

Woody From 'Toy Story'

Newborn photo shoots are always going to be cute to scroll through. The ones where the photographer can bundle them up and snap cute pictures when they're asleep are always the best. With the inclusion of Margaret's Woody from Toy Story outfit, we get a whole story and the parents get a priceless image forever.

Buzz Lightyear From 'Toy Story'

Margaret celebrated her son's first birthday with a cake smash photo shoot, which is always a fun photo collection. She leveled up the cuteness by dressing her son in one of their favorite Disney Pixar characters – Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. Every detail on the suit is there, and the hat ties all the cute together.

Original Mickey Mouse

Not all Disney's best is its newest creations and characters – even the first one, the original black-and-white Mickey Mouse, is a character to be celebrated. Margaret was able to crochet an outfit for a newborn to dress up as that version of Mickey. The train engineer hat totally makes the outfit!

Pua and Hei-Hei From 'Moana'

Halloween is likely all sorts of fun at the Domingo house because mom is so talented in her crochet work. One year, the whole family dressed up as the characters from Moana, with dad dressing as Maui, she as Moana, and their two boys as Pua and Hei-Hei in custom crocheted hats she made herself. It pulled this whole look together!

Snow White

She is definitely the fairest of them all with this adorable Snow White dress. The colors are perfect in the right shades of red, blue, and yellow. It's instantly recognizable who the inspiration was for this beautiful dress. Be sure to check out the booties she's wearing. They are so cute.

Mulan

"As an Asian-American, Mulan has always held a very special place in my heart," Margaret wrote in the Instagram caption. "It's hard to believe that the original animated feature premiered more than 22 years ago, and I still remember the pride and wonder I felt as a young girl finally seeing myself (somewhat) represented in a Disney film." And a little girl was able to wear this custom-made outfit.

Sully and Boo From 'Monsters Inc.'

Boy-girl twins enjoyed their custom outfits for their one-of-a-kind photo shoot as newborn babies. Here, Margaret made Sully and Boo from Monsters Inc., and the Boo hat has little strings to mimic her pigtails. There are so many details in these outfits, they are almost cuter than the babies themselves.

Bo Peep From 'Toy Story'

There are so many characters from Toy Story beyond the two popular lead characters. Here a little girl is dressed as Bo Peep, featuring The Yarn Mermaid's gorgeous work. We love the pink bow right at the top of her head, the ruffles at the ankles, and the staff in her hands that immediately shows who she is.

Lilo and Scrump From 'Lilo and Stitch'

This adorable little girl is dressed just like Lilo with her surfer's outfit and surfboard. The look is completed with the crochet Scrump doll, and it's so cute.

Margaret tells CafeMom that she's only been crocheting for about 4-and-a-half years. "I started when I was on maternity leave with my first son. I guess my nesting took the form of crocheting," she explains.

Belle From 'Beauty and the Beast'

Margaret is full of ideas for using her crochet skills to add more ideas for Disney outfits, both for customers and herself.

"I'm already starting to make outfits for my baby girl who's due in February," she says. "In between orders and work/life, I'm working on the outfits for my daughter's shoot. I just finished a Mulan outfit for her and want to make a matching Mushu doll."

Anna From 'Frozen'

After Margaret shared photos of her youngest son in her Disney crochet outfits with friends and family, they encouraged her to start a shop so others can get in on the fun. "I decided to open my shop The Yarn Mermaid and have been having an awesome time creating for the past 4 years," she says.

She Has Many More Outfits in Her Store!

"I always love working on custom requests and get really excited when I'm asked to make an outfit I've never made before," Margaret tells us.

She says she wants to "eventually get through ALL the Disney princesses!" and if anyone is looking for an outfit for their baby's photo shoot or just because, she has more in her Etsy shop, which is "also the home of the original #MinnieBeanie, custom Minnie Mouse Beanies."

Her store includes Tinkerbell outfits, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, and she "just got a request for a custom Rapunzel-inspired one that I'm excited to work on."
