The shock and awe of getting a positive pregnancy test is, for many, unmatched. But when one woman shared a video of her telling her husband about her pregnancy and his reaction was unenthusiastic at best, the internet came for him. The video, which was shared on TikTok, shows footage of a woman telling her husband that she is pregnant. She is clearly excited, but the most he can muster up is, “Told you.”
We get it. Even the person peeing on the stick feels that wave of disbelief at first. But when your partner is clearly over the moon excited about expanding your family, the least you can do is try to match that energy.
Unfortunately for the woman on TikTok, whose name is Katie Boyer, that’s not what happened with her husband. She even shared a follow-up video months later where she admitted that “his reaction sucked.”

Some women are calling the husband’s reaction a red flag.
In the video, Katie comes out of the bathroom with a pregnancy test and excitedly tells her husband that she’s pregnant. He takes a look at the test and says unemotionally, while Katie jumps up and down a couple of times, “Congrats. Told you.”
When she leans down to hug him, he doesn’t hug her back. He even reminds her to essentially “get through the first couple weeks” before they get excited about having another child.
Judging from the video, it looks like Katie’s husband is less than enthused because, unlike Katie, he had no doubts about her getting pregnant again and having another baby.
Still, his less than enthused response drew a bigger reaction from other users who saw the TikTok and left comments to tell Katie to run for the hills.
“I’m not a big fan of whatever that thing is on your couch,” someone commented, in reference to the husband sitting on the couch, of course.
Another person wrote, “Never sat his phone down, didn’t hug you back, acted annoyed, tossed the test… how many red flags do you need?!”
One woman wrote that her husband actually acted the same way toward her. However, she added, “We’re divorced now.”
Other TikTokers wrote that it seems like Katie’s husband doesn’t even like her, which is a hard pill to swallow from a handful of strangers on the internet. Many shared what they believe the husband is a “red flag” and even added the red flag emoji for good measure.
“The way he says congrats, I was waiting for him to ask who the father was,” one person wrote under the video.
Katie later shared a video to explain the context more about what happened. In it, she says that in the moment, she needed someone to “match” her excitement, which her husband did not. She also says that she took other videos of her family’s reaction and her husband’s family’s reaction, and all of them were “terrible videos” too.
In the comments, she replied to another person, writing, “His reaction sucked and I told him that. And he knows that. I do believe he’s excited but IDK it didn’t make me feel good. And we had been actively trying for six months. The whole thing sucked. But I do believe he loves me and cares about me, but in that moment he just sucked all around.”
