I Gave Birth to My Son at Golden Corral & Didn’t Even Know I Was Pregnant

Few things can compete with a pregnant woman's voracious appetite. We've been there and understand that when a craving hits, you've got to eat. On May 4, a mom had a hankering for a buffet lunch, so she and some family members went for an all-you-can-eat treat at a Golden Corral restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas. Tayvia Woodfork, 26, expected to leave the restaurant with a full belly, but she left with a new baby instead.

Here's the kicker: Tayvia had no idea she was 37 weeks pregnant when she entered the restaurant and gave birth to a baby boy in the bathroom a short time later. Golden Corral introduced the newborn to the world on the company's Instagram, and we agree Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork is a hunk of love.

Tayvia wasn't feeling great the day Tamaar was born.

Her mother, Tameka Woodfork, told Today her daughter had complained of stomach pains and went into the bathroom at the Golden Corral. When she didn't return for several minutes, her mother knew something was wrong. Tameka went to check on Tayvia and found her daughter in excruciating pain.

"I said, 'We have to go to the hospital,' but she couldn't move her legs, so we ended up calling 911,'" Tameka told Today.

The women were in for a shock.

Tayvia was already a mom to a son and had experienced pregnancy and labor before, but she told Today she had no idea she was pregnant with Tamaar.

She apparently felt no fetal movement during her pregnancy and had none of the typical symptoms many women experience. "I didn't know what was happening," Tayvia told Today.

Moments after paramedics arrived at the restaurant, Tamaar was born.

Tameka said that while paramedics were assessing the situation, the baby was born.

"They were still trying to figure out what was going on when she goes, 'It's out! It's out!'" Tameka recalled. "The baby was in the toilet."

Word spread quickly across the restaurant. "When we walked out, everybody was clapping and people were lined up to see," Tameka said.

Golden Corral shared the story across social media.

Golden Corral was thrilled Tamaar decided to be born at their location in Little Rock, Arkansas. The restaurant chain shared a picture of the newborn and news that Corral was part of the baby's legal name.

"Both mother and son are doing great, and we could not be happier! Welcome to the Golden Corral family Tamaar! You're the new record holder as the youngest fan of Golden Corral! And don't worry, we'll make sure Mom is well taken care of with Golden Corral gift cards… while she's taking care of you," an Instagram post reads.

Tayvia reportedly experienced a cryptic pregnancy.

This occurs when the mother doesn't experience typical pregnancy symptoms, like weight gain and fetal movement, and doesn't realize she is pregnant until late in the pregnancy. Or, as in Tayvia's case, not until delivery. The Cleveland Clinic notes cryptic pregnancy is rare.

"Cryptic pregnancies are uncommon. Studies suggest about 1 in 475 pregnancies go unnoticed until about 20 weeks gestation. About 1 in 2,500 pregnancies go unnoticed until delivery," the medical center explains.

Tayvia shared her excitement on Facebook on May 5, "WELPPP … I want to introduce you guys to Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork it was so unexpected who would have known that I would deliver a healthy 6lbs baby boy at a restaurant in the restroom but I thank GOD for a safe delivery."
