Jinger Duggar Critics Slam Serious Safety Issues in Nursery for Baby No. 3

Content creators who are parents know the risk that comes with any photo or video they post. Especially if the media is in a car or around their home, followers love to point out things that are potentially unsafe for kids. And recently, Jinger Duggar‘s critics slammed the former 19 Kids and Counting star for several safety hazards in her nursery for baby No. 3.

As a refresher, Jinger and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, said “I do” in 2016. The former Counting On stars welcomed their first child, daughter Felicity, in 2018, followed by another daughter, Evangeline, in 2020. Jinger is now pregnant with their third child, a baby boy, and is due in late March 2025.

In February, Jinger Duggar posted a nursery tour for baby No. 3

On February 13, Jinger published a vlog on YouTube showing the nursery for her baby boy. She explained that some furniture was reused from her first two children and some was purchased new. The setup was fairly simple, including a dark green crib, rocking chair, changing table, and small nightstand.

“I’m really excited,” Jinger told viewers. “It’s going to be so different having a little boy.”

However, critics pointed out several safety hazards — including the crib placement.

In the comments, many YouTube users couldn’t help but point out that the crib was in an iffy location.

One person advised: “I have always heard that you should never put a child’s bed on an outside wall and near any windows. They can get a draft. And in LA glass can shatter during an earthquake spraying glass on the child. Also, if it’s on a street side people [can] peer in the windows or worse.”

Another pointed out, “If there was an earthquake, there are times that windows will bust and you don’t want that glass getting in the crib.”

They added, “The breeze can come in and it would be right next to the crib.”

Others were concerned about the unsecured mirror.

Meanwhile, other commenters drew attention to the safety risks posed by Jinger’s oversized mirror propped against a wall.

One YouTube user wrote: “As a Native Californian, I was going to say, make sure you secure everything to the walls because of earthquakes. I would secure that mirror, for sure.”

Another person suggested, “I would replace the mirror and put a plant instead just for some safety reasons like it falling or breaking while baby is playing or something.”

Someone else agreed, commenting, “Please fasten the mirror to the wall.”

Still, more pointed out issues with the changing table.

The safety advice for Jinger didn’t end there.

One person stressed: “I HOPE you screwed that mat onto the changing table! Those little tabs drape over the back and get screwed into the back of the table so that it doesn’t slip off!!! Also, 100% agree with securing all tippy furniture to the walls!!!”

The framed “Vuolo” jersey over the changing table was a no-no, according to another YouTuber user.

“It’s probably not a good idea to hang a picture above the crib or changing table, for safety reasons,” the person commented.

A different fan echoed: “I never liked putting something heavy above the crib or changing table. I was always concerned if they would drop.”

Many commenters, however, praised how adorable the nursery turned out.

Not everyone was a critic in the comments of Jinger’s nursery video. In fact, many lauded the end result.

“I love how simplistic they kept the nursery,” one shared. “Just basic necessities, some practical decor and no frufru.”

Another wrote: “Love the crib color. Love the simplicity and not overly cluttered you made the space.”

Someone else agreed, commenting, “Love that it’s so simple and cute.”
