Try as they might to be relatable, the Kar-Jenner family often falls short. That’s just what happens when people grow up with already privileged lives and then become millionaires and/or billionaires. And recently, Khloé Kardashian‘s critics slammed her for an “out of touch” comment about hiring a nanny for her kids.
To recap, Khloé, 40, has two children. She and her ex, Tristan Thompson, welcomed their daughter, True Thompson, in April 2018, followed by a son, Tatum Thompson, in July 2022.
The Good American founder recently opened up about the effort that goes into preparing for a fun night out. But in an attempt to seem relatable, she effectively alienated her fan base.

On Valentine’s Day, Khloé released a new episode of her podcast.
A new episode of Khloé in Wonder Land dropped on February 14. During a sit-down with her friends, Olivia “Liv” Pierson and Natalie “Nat” Halcro, the pals discussed her 40th birthday in June 2024.
Nat called it the “funnest night, I think, of my life,” adding that “everyone wanted to celebrate you and just have the best time.”
Khloé Kardashian made a comment about hiring a nanny during their chat.
“But I also think being older, you realize how much effort it takes to go out,” Khloé acknowledged of her milestone birthday bath. “To get dressed, to book a nanny, or just honestly get yourself ready to go even if you don’t have kids.”
She continued, “You’re like, ‘I appreciated the commitment and dedication it takes for people to do that.’ And then not only for everyone to do that, but to show up and be like, ‘Tomorrow I don’t care how f—ed up I am, we’re going balls to the walls.'”
On Reddit, a critic pointed out how ‘out of touch’ she was.
A Reddit user in the r/KUWTKsnark subreddit didn’t hold back with their criticism of Khloé’s nanny comment.
“Did khloe just say it takes so much effort to BOOK A NANNY,” they wrote. “lmfao I’m screaming she’s so out of touch 💀.”

Many others piled on Khloé, too.
Plenty of Reddit users agreed with the OP in the comments.
“She trying so hard to seem relatable then drops the nanny 😂,” one person wrote.
Another pointed out, “Let’s be real, she doesn’t book a nanny – she tells her assistant to book the nanny 🤦🏼♀️.”
A different, far more harsh Reddit user shared: “Does she not realize how dumb she looks?? It’s a terribly pathetically obvious attempt at being relatable that just comes off as dumb fake b—-.”
Still more Redditors drew attention to her incredible privilege.
In the comments, another critic snarked: “Imagine having to go out and get dressed and do a job!! THE HORROR !!”
Someone else commented: “Um… she has a stylist, hair and makeup people, I’m sure she can use one of her sisters’ [nannies] if she drops them off at their place. It’s not hard for her to go out. But nice reach.”
Meanwhile, yet another shared an updated version of a quote from Khloé sister, Kim Kardashian, complaining about people who don’t want to work.
They wrote, “Get your f—ing a– up and book a nanny. It seems like nobody wants to just book a nanny these days.”
