A video that shows a baby lying in her playpen in a super strange position has gone viral. The mom shared footage of her daughter on TikTok, and it looked so unusual that some people were convinced that the baby was actually a toy or AI. In a follow-up video, the mom assured her TikTok followers that her baby is definitely not generated by artificial intelligence.
Some people were genuinely frightened. “I thought she was about to start crawling backwards when I saw her like this,” the mom, who goes by @gripesandgiggles on TikTok, wrote over her video.
The footage shows her baby twisted around in an unusual position. “Girlllll I thought that was a toy baby and it was taken apart,” one person commented on the video. “I almost passed out when she got up 😭😭😭😩.”
“Why are you still in the house with her?💀,” a second person wrote.
Many TikTok users were convinced the baby was fake.

Though the mom’s daughter is indeed real, some people were not convinced. “I thought she was a baby doll someone threw in there 😭,” a TikTok user commented on the video.
Several people told the mom that they thought her daughter was a “broken doll.”
Others thought the mom used AI to create a video for social media. “I thought you used AI to manipulate a video of a TOY 😭😭😭 oh my,” someone commented.
The mom shared another video to prove that her daughter was not AI-generated.

In response to a comment that read, “Ummm is this not AI?” the mom uploaded another video on TikTok that showed her baby smiling for the camera. “she’s real, I promise,” the mom captioned her video.
Speaking to Newsweek, the mom, whose name is Candace Piccirillo, said she was “surprised at the amount of people who think she is AI.” However, she was not too bothered by the AI accusations. She actually found them quite funny. “It made me laugh so I made a follow up video to show she’s not AI but people are still saying that,” she told the publication.
She decided to share the video because she thought it was funny.
Though some social media users thought the video was a little creepy, the mom said she thought it was “funny” when she noticed that her daughter looked like a doll.
“She was in her playpen and I looked over at her and that’s how she was laying and when she heard me she turned her head and looked at me,” she told Newsweek. “When I saw her like that she looked like a doll laying there and I thought it was funny.”
