TRIGGER WARNING: This post contains information about stillbirth and infant loss, which may be triggering to some.
When a mother discovers she’s expecting a baby, she’s often overwhelmed with emotions. There is always fear in the back of her mind that something could go wrong, but that often lessens as the weeks go by. No one can ever prepare for the devastation of pregnancy loss, particularly when it happens in the second or third trimester. Life is never the same after a loss, but many parents find they have a desire to get pregnant again.
This comes with its own set of fears and emotions, all of which are perfectly natural and understandable. One famous TikTok couple is helping others deal with pregnancy loss and subsequent pregnancy in a unique way.
Alex Madison and Jon Bouffard became pregnant with their first baby, a boy named Leo, in 2024. They documented their journey as DINKS, dual income, no kids, to expectant parents. Tragically, the couple lost Leo at 26 weeks, leaving them devastated. As they healed, they used their brand of humor, which is sometimes dark, to deal with their grief. Many found their posts refreshing and loved seeing the real side of life after loss.
In June 2025, Alex and Jon shared big news – they’re expecting again. Fans and followers loved that and look forward to watching their journey. In true Jon and Alex form, they also posted a humorous look at announcing a pregnancy before and after loss. They showcased the reality of what it feels like to be pregnant and the heartache that can come with it.

Madison told People she is excited but also cautiously optimistic.
“I was by myself and the thought of getting pregnant again was actually really scary to me,” she explained. “After you’ve experienced loss, the second time you see a positive pregnancy test, you are kind of struck with a wave of fear and unknown because it didn’t work out the first time. So why would I think that it’s going to work out this time?”
In their video, Jon and Alex shared several scenarios about pregnancy, from the first look at a test and thinking about the baby they were “definitely going to have” to being congratulated on their pregnancy and thinking “for now.”
Their honesty resonated with many people.
“you’re such an icon and I am so unbelievably excited for you to be the coolest mom ever,” one comment reads.
Others shared their own experiences.
“and then when someone asks ‘oh is that your first?’ and you gotta hit them with the ‘first to make it this far,'” someone wrote.
“LITERALLY hid my pregnancy until my girl actually came out. Wasn’t risking it twice,” a mom admitted.
“I saw someone say when they were asked when they were going to have kids already and their reply was ‘when they stop dying on me Susan’ and I wish I had heard this to use when I was in my infertility trenches,” one mom joked.
Many people sent Jon and Alex well-wishes for their pregnancy and words of encouragement.
“I wish upon you the most happiest pregnancy going forward,” one fan shared. “Enjoy the moment. I know your scared. Sending so much love to you both.”
