When an expectant mom went in for an ultrasound appointment, she wasn’t expecting to find out that her baby looks just like her beloved pet. Through a series of images, Inês Egner told the funny story on social media. “We were so excited for our anatomy scan,” she wrote over some of the sonogram images. Later in the post, she showcased a sonogram image that looked surprisingly similar to her dog, Goulash.
Putting the sonogram image and a photo of Goulash side by side on TikTok, Inês concluded, “Our son looks remarkably like our dog 💀.” Though the humorous realization went viral, Inês joked that she wasn’t exactly shocked to find out that her dog and her baby look just alike. “They have the same parents after all,” she wrote in the caption.

In the comments, another person wrote, “Well yeah? Like brothers usually look alike?” Another person added, “Glad to know your youngest looks like your eldest. No DNA [test] needed.”
Jokes aside, Inês told People that her dog Goulash really is like “a giant baby” who will be “a doting big brother” once her baby arrives.
She also told the entertainment outlet that when she and her partner went in for the 20-week anatomy sonogram, her best friend accompanied them. As they were looking through the sonogram images together, Inês’ friend immediately noticed that the baby looked just like Goulash.
“We came across that picture and my friend goes, ‘Wait, doesn’t the baby look just like Goulash?'” Inês recalled. When she and her husband saw the image, they “instantly started laughing.”
For Inês and her loved ones, the unexpected discovery was a positive thing. “I know you’re meant to say your baby looks beautiful in the sonogram photos, that they look just like their parents and whatnot, but the reality is they are really ugly,” she told the magazine. “Alien-esque. Sometimes downright creepy! And in truth, we do like to jokingly refer to the dog as our son, so it was just a fun time overall.”
