Sun-Maid Is Bringing Back Its ‘Board Of Imagination’ And It’s Better Than Ever

One of the most amazing things about kids is how imaginative they are! Whether they’re playing make-believe with their friends, coming up with stories, or just playing with toys, they’re always showing off their creativity. We all know that nurturing kids’ imagination grows their problem-solving skills, artistry, and individual confidence —that’s exactly why Sun-Maid is bringing back its Board of Imagination!

Last year, Sun-Maid — the brand known for imaginatively transforming raisins into a range of whole fruit-based snacks that are both delicious and better-for-you — launched the world’s first Board of Imagination, and it was a resounding success. With their parents’ help, over 1,300 kids applied to be on the Sun-Maid Board of Imagination, which brought childhood’s most creative minds together with Sun-Maid executives to help move the brand’s imagination further into wild and whimsical places!

The selected winners received a one-year “term”, where they were able to share their imaginative ideas about new products and flavors with the Sun-Maid executive team, and even helped influence marketing efforts! Each winner also received a $5,000 scholarship, a $5,000 donation to their school, and a year’s supply of snacks for their school. Throughout the year, the kids attended virtual board meetings, where they approved Sun-Maid’s official Day of Imagination, reviewed new flavors of Sun-Maid snacks, conducted market research at their local grocery stores, promoted Halloween and holiday marketing initiatives, and are in the process of choosing kid-designed artwork to be featured exclusively on Sun-Maid products at Target (with 100% of proceeds benefiting a child-focused charity).

This year, the Board of Imagination is back and better than ever! The Board of Imagination will kick off with an in-person inauguration at Sun-Maid headquarters in Fresno, California. This year’s board members will be even more involved in product development, and they’ll attend virtual board meetings throughout the year with Sun-Maid’s C-suite executives (like Harry Overly, Sun-Maid President, CEO & Chief Imagination Wrangler) and the actual Sun-Maid marketing team. The Board will receive engaging challenges and lots of exclusive swag and snacks.

Once again, there will be five winners from the national competition. Winners will receive a $5,000 scholarship and $5,000 for their school — as well as a year’s worth of Sun-Maid Snacks.

Last year’s board approved a “Day of Imagination” where Sun-Maid’s entire company took a day to focus on their own personal creative passions. This year, the program will expand into a year-long effort featuring events and imaginative resources for employees.
