As a woman and mother, you don’t have to do much to attract the ire of the internet. There is no shortage of people ready to judge and condemn women for simply having an opinion and of course, mothers for literally all of their parenting choices, right from the very beginning.
Even the choice to bring your child into the world can rile up the critics. One TikTok mom shared that this was the case for her when she decided to have a baby when she was 14 years old.

'I've proved every single person wrong,' Emma wrote.
Emma Whorlow, a 23-year-old mother of two, shared that when she became pregnant at 14, she was met with quite a bit of judgment. People weren’t shy about sharing their feelings about what she should do with her pregnancy. Whorlow, who gave birth in 2015, shared that she was “told to get rid of [her daughter] because of my age, was always told I would fail.”
But nine years later, Whorlow is having the last laugh. She wrote, “… people will judge but I’ve proved every single person wrong. .”

Emma shared moments from her mothering journey.
She commemorated her mothering journey with a TikTok video. It began with an image of her pregnant in the hospital. Above it, she captioned the photo, “You had a baby at 14?!”
In the short eight-second reel, she showed images of herself with her daughter over the years, concluding with an image of the little girl today. She ended the video with the words, “Yeah, look at me now.”
Some still offered negative comments about Emma's journey.
The video has since gone viral, earning 2.7 million views. In the comments section, people mostly offered their support and well-wishes. But there were those who still felt the need to sow negativity and make snide remarks.
“Mommy can you help me with the homework? No I’m doing mine!” one user joked. Another asked, “Why is everyone having kids at à young age now ? .”
Others asked if you were “allowed” to get pregnant at 14. It’s not exactly a thing someone can mandate, but they were likely referring to the age of consent in the UK, which is 16 years old, notes The Sun.
Others shared similar stories and offered encouragement.
On the positive, supportive side, there were other women who shared their own pregnancy stories.
“Well done,” one user wrote. “I got pregnant at 15 and had my kid at 16 and that was hard. You must have loads of support around you. Well done girl.”
Others offered a positive outlook for the future.
“I think it’s better in some ways to have a child young cos then you can live your life when older,” someone wrote.
“As long as your baby is looked after and loved by you then nothing else in the world matters in my eyes ,” another user offered.
Yes, we agree.
