Parenting is so rewarding, but every parent knows that it's a constant struggle to stay on top of things. Moms and dads often feel that if they just had a little more time in the day, they'd actually be able to do everything they want to! It's so hard to balance parenting, cooking, cleaning, working, and maintaining relationships, and an extra few minutes could be a huge game-changer. Well, we may not be able to put more time into your day, but we can teach you some time-saving hacks that will give you a few minutes back!
Prep For School The Night Before
Whether kids are learning in person or virtually, they need many of the same things: outfits, lunches, snacks, and schoolwork. Instead of rushing in the morning to try to get everything together, prep the night before! Lay out clothing, put together snacks and lunches and store them in the fridge, and organize homework/schoolwork so it's ready to go.
Invest In A Robot Vacuum
In the past few years, robot vacuums have come a long way, and they can be the perfect solution for busy parents. Just set them and forget them! Once you set the cleaning schedule, you don't have to worry about cleaning your floors. Although they can be a bit pricey, there are great options available for under $200. Added bonus? Kids love to watch robot vacuums as they zoom around the room.
Create A Family Update Hub
Create a family udpate hub — complete with a calendar, a place for notes and updates, a daily schedule, chores, shopping lists, etc. Keeping everything in one place can help the whole family stay on the same page about what's going on every week.
Create A Routine For Daily Chores
When it comes to things like laundry and dishes, it seems like you're never done. Instead of letting these chores pile up, get into a routine — for example, start the dishwasher right after dinner and put the dishes away first thing in the morning, or start laundry when you wake up, switch it to the dryer after work, and fold laundry after the kids go to bed. Although it can be annoying to do these chores every day, you'll thank yourself on the weekend when you don't have 15 loads of laundry to do!
Cook In Bulk & Freeze Meals
If you feel like cooking dinner every night is a huge hassle, think about cooking in bulk and freezing meals. Decide on one day each week to make some meals, then freeze them for lunches and dinners throughout the week. Some of our favorite bulk meals include chili and chicken noodle soup.
