Little kids can have opinions too. In fact, they often have quite strong opinions. Little ones are usually not shy about letting you know how they feel. And truth be told, adults could learn something from this kind of honesty.
A TikTok mom recently offered some insight into her toddler’s thoughts on the world in a cute, funny, and relatable clip. From hugs to snacks to social interactions, little Carter has thoughts, and we are totally here for them.
The video is a spot-on parody.
Laura Love, aka @lauralove5514, posts darling videos of her son Carter doing all kinds of sweet little kid things. His facial expressions are on point, and it isn’t hard to tell how little Carter feels about things. Love put together a parody video of Carter doing everyday tasks with a voiceover from TikTok interior designer @anthonyimmediato, and it is a match made in heaven.
The clip opens with Immediato saying in a calming voice, “How I feel about certain design choices with little to no explanation,” and it cuts to Carter going about his day as usual.
Carter is not shy about his choices.
Like any good designer, Carter knows what he likes and dislikes and isn’t afraid to voice those opinions. First, he clearly loves his hugs from mom and adobo seasoning. But sharing his food? That is an “absolutely not.”
When the video cuts to Carter interacting with a character in a bear costume, Immediato’s voice is heard saying, “For me, this one’s 50/50.”
Kid, we totally get that one.
Carter and Immediato are a perfect pair.
The video continues showing Carter with a blender, “absolutely not,” and then climbing a fridge with a voiceover, “Yes, and I don’t care that it’s impractical.”
Immediato’s calming voice juxtaposed with a rambunctious toddler hooks you into Carter's world and leaves us thirsting for more.
The video continues, showing Carter cracking an egg and missing the bowl. “I hate these.”
Then a slow ride at the amusement park. “I think I might hate this even more.”
Hugs from his little brother? “Yes, of course.”
When his brother Jonah breaks dad's coffeepot? “No.”
Dancing in the rain? “Yes, I’ve grown really fond of this.”
And finally, bugs? “Surprisingly, I actually like this.”
Fans can’t get enough.
Followers love Carter and his mature sensibilities. They want to know more of his thoughts. “This [has] to be the best one I’ve seen done,” one follower commented.
People can feel Carter in their souls. “Can we talk about the face when the egg missed the bowl! Literally me everyday,” someone else wrote on TikTok.
And there is so much love for Love as a mom and for her sharing the joy that she finds in her daily life. “You’re literally the reason I want to become a mom,” one commenter wrote.
The coffeepot thing really got Carter hot.
Many comments reference a previous TikTok showing Carter distraught over his brother Jonah breaking their dad’s coffeepot. The original clip has more than 19 million views and shows the brothers in the aftermath of the accident. Carter is giving Jonah the business about breaking the pot, but Love comes in and explains why the brothers need to be kind.
It's a sweet and funny teaching moment.
Carter, keep the laughs coming, pal. We are here for it. And Jonah, if you’re so inclined, we’d love to hear what you think about this crazy world too!
