A Toddler on TikTok Found His Look-Alike on a Poster at Walmart & He Was Utterly Confused

We are all original and uniquely made, but with more than 7 billion people in the world, there are bound to be some similarities between some of us. I know more than a few people who have a genuine fear of meeting a stranger who shares their face, hair, etc. Perhaps people are worried that they were separated at birth and their whole life has been a lie.

But even if you’re not scared of coming face to face with your doppelgänger, it can be a jarring situation. It certainly was for one toddler, whose mom posted all about the experience on TikTok.

The toddler spotted the image and immediately said it was him.

Jacque Wiliams was in Walmart with her sons Carter and Caden when Carter stumbled across the image of a child who looked just like him. Carter was so taken aback with the photo of the other child that his reaction made for TikTok gold.

Standing in the cart, wearing shorts and cowboy boots, Carter points to the image and says, “Me.”

Carter was so sure it was him, he tried to correct his mother.

Caden didn’t help matters by affirming his brother’s suspicions.

“It’s him,” Caden chimes in.

Jacque tries, perhaps unsuccessfully, to convince Carter that it’s someone else. But from the way he continued to stare at the image, it was clear he doesn’t believe her. He points at himself again and says, “Mommy, Carter.”

Caden had some deep questions after seeing the poster.

Jacque tells her son, “I know your name’s Carter, but that’s not you.” Carter sighs, either confused or frustrated that his own mother is unable to recognize him.

Caden takes the matter into the depth of existentialism, musing, “If that’s not Carter and this is Carter and that’s not Caden and I’m Caden and that’s not mommy and you’re mommy …”

Someone suggested that Carter needs to be compensated for use of his image.

@_jacquewilliams @walmart you made their day. Truly, thank you. This has been a once in a lifetime experience ❤️ #doppleganger #Carter #walmart #kidsoftiktok #kidmodel ♬ Walmart - Da Epic Squad

The comments underneath the post seem to suggest that people may be siding with Carter on this one.

Several people said, “I believe Carter.”

“Girl you tripping that’s him,” one woman wrote.

Another commenter suggested that Carter’s likeness is being used without his permission. “Nah that’s him. He needs his money,” the TikTok user wrote.

With this type of resemblance, it might not be a bad idea to look into it.

Walmart caught wind of the viral video and made sure to thank Jacque and her boys for shedding an adorable light on its brand, sending a big box of goodies. Carter might not have been the boy from the poster, but he certainly received one of the perks of being in the business. Not bad.
