As Angelica Adame prepared for the birth of her first baby, she wanted to do something special for her husband. Isaac Adame lost his mom in 2010 at age 13, long before the pair met. Angelica felt strongly about including the baby’s paternal grandmother in their celebration. She gave her husband a gift he’ll never forget, filling his heart with joy and pride.
Her husband’s mom, Lori Sharnick, gave birth to Isaac at the age of 17. On her 30th birthday, she received a terminal cancer diagnosis. She died from rhabdomyosarcoma on April 28, 2010.
Angelica, a hairstylist, explained to People that she learned about the idea of memory bears from one of her clients, a seamstress.
“I knew immediately I wanted to do the same for my husband,” she said. “I ended up going through a shop I found on Etsy who specialized in making bears out of loved ones’ clothes who have passed. I met up with my husband’s grandparents to get the jeans from them while my husband was working.”
They were the same pair his mom wore in a photo of them when he was a little boy.

“When my husband opened the bear, he knew exactly which jeans they were, too,” she told People. “The denim blue color also felt right because we’re having a boy.”
“I wanted to surprise my husband with this gift because I knew how much it would mean to him to include his mom in some way,” she shared. “If it was the other way around, I know I’d miss having my mom at my baby shower and feel sad if she wasn’t able to be a part of it.”
Angelica shared a video of the special moment on TikTok, and people immediately fell in love with the couple and the sentiment.
“That’s why your the chosen mother of his child. So thoughtful,” a TikToker wrote.
One person told Isaac just how lucky he is. “If a girl ever did this for me I’d devote the rest of my life for her – you rich my boy! And I’m talking about the good rich,” the commenter wrote.
Isaac knows how special Angelica is. He shared a sweet compliment for his wife in the comment section.
“My mom passed of cancer when I was around 13 years old. My wife never got to meet her,” he wrote. “But holding that bear and instantly recognizing my mom’s favorite jeans, she was there. Best wife ever.”
