Twitter Is Dragging Manny MUA For Suggesting He Be In The Live-Action ‘Little Mermaid’

All week, social media feeds everywhere have been abuzz about Disney's upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. After the director of the upcoming film announced that Halle Bailey of the singing group Chloe X Halle will be playing the role of Ariel, fans have been taking guesses at who the rest of the cast will include.

Adding to that, influencers like Manny MUA have been suggesting themselves (albeit jokingly) for roles, and the reaction is not what they've expected. In a hilarious Twitter thread, the controversial beauty YouTuber was obliterated for suggesting that he should play Prince Eric, and the reactions were insane.

Well, everyone, it looks like Manny Gutierrez has officially put his name in the hat for the role of live-action Prince Eric.

Amid the excitement surrounding Halle Bailey's official casting in the role of Ariel in the upcoming live-action film The Little Mermaid, everyone has been casting their votes for who the rest of the cast should be. In a recent tweet, the YouTuber suggested that he might be the best option to play Prince Eric alongside the young singer.

And thus the jokes began.

The funniest one? A tweet saying that Scarlett Johansson, the controversial actress who is notorious for accepting roles across races and genders, would be better suited for the role than the influencer.

"I would literally rather see scarlett johansson play prince eric," someone hilariously tweeted.

People would actually prefer vegetables to play Eric over Gutierrez.

Yep, Twitter would rather see Veggie Tales come to life than witness the YouTuber take a stab at showing off his acting chops. What vegetable would be best? Someone suggested an eggplant.

"I would rather see an eggplant play prince eric," another hilarious tweet read.

It all came down to Gutierrez getting shut all the way down.

His past is still following him. In 2018, old and racially insensitive social media posts from Gutierrez and three of his friends (Laura Lee, Nikita Dragun, Gabriel Zamora) suddenly came to light, and Gutierrez became an outcast in the community for social climbing and faux friendship.

"How did he really compare himself to prince eric he knows he’s still cancelled right??" someone asked as a reminder.

Critics went hard on what was probably just a lighthearted joke.

With hundreds of comments roasting him to no end, the reactions were exactly what Gutierrez should have expected.

"He’s getting dragged to filth for this and I honestly didn’t expect y’all to go so hard," someone tweeted.

Perhaps he can try another role?

"Did he really compare himself to a prince, maybe he can be Ariel’s big toe, even that’s a role he doesn’t fit I-," another wrote.

Let us also note that Ariel only has toes for a short part of the film. It would be a very minor role. No speaking parts, of course.

But Gutierrez took the insults like a champ.

"These responses are making me lol!!!!!!! The little gay Eric girl," he said in response to the jokes.

Moral of the story? Watch your words, even when they're jokes.
