I Was Heartbroken After Just 2 People Showed Up to My 3-Year-Old’s Birthday Party

Parents love to celebrate their children. We want our kids to feel happy, loved, and protected, and we try our best to make that happen daily. Birthdays are a perfect time to do something extra for our kids, and we often bring family and friends in to celebrate the special occasion with us. Some parents go all out for their kids, and it's heartbreaking when guests don't show up.

TikTok mom Gloria, @2down4u_official, posted a video of her daughter's third birthday party, saying no one showed up for the little girl. Gloria put together a sweet Minnie Mouse-themed party with decorations, food, and a bounce house, but all we see is the 3-year-old guest of honor jumping and playing with one other child. Even though she is smiling, it makes our hearts hurt.

Gloria said she was excited about the party.

The mom's video pans the backyard party setup, showing bright pink tablecloths, decorations, and a matching play area.

"My baby turned 3 and no one came to her birthday party. I cooked and made a bunch of pastries. I was excited to celebrate with family and friends. No one showed up for her," she wrote over the video.

We see the little girl playing in the Minnie Mouse bounce house with a bunch of balloons and what looks like one other person. A person commented on the video, saying that they were there and it was their brother bouncing with Gloria's daughter. “I did, that’s my brother [on the bounce house]… love you,” the commenter wrote.

The little one looked happy, but we know Gloria was devastated.

Parents felt for Gloria and her daughter.

The quick video tugged at parents' hearts, many of whom have have felt her pain.

" I'm so sorry!" a mom wrote. "I know how that feels!! My family never shows up. I wish I lived closer me and my girls would have showed up for her!!!! ."

" That's why my daughter didn't want a sweet 16 " another person wrote. "Sad ."

"You need better friends/family …" someone suggested.

There was a sweet surprise.

In a follow-up video, Gloria shares some good news. Even though the party looked like no one came, her niece, @kristennmedinaa, traveled to be there.

"Update. My niece traveled 1,296 miles and surprised me, and she's the one who lives the furthest and canceled all of her plans just to come to my Babies birthday," the text on the video reads.

Clad in her Minnie Mouse ears, Gloria holds back tears as she embraces her niece, who undoubtedly loves her a lot.

There is nothing better than family.

TikTokers loved that Kristen came to show her aunt and great-niece some love.

"Im so glad to sweet of her love ❤," one commenter wrote.

Why does this keep happening?

@shanselman

It’s ok if no one comes to your party. You’ll be OK. It stings though.

Sadly, people not showing up to birthday parties is becoming a trend. Not only is it rude and inconsiderate, but it's also downright hurtful. There are too many stories about people throwing parties and no one coming. We've seen it happen at birthday parties, baby showers, and even weddings.

What if this was your party or your child? How would you feel? Friends, we need to do better.
