Why Meghan Markle Celebrated Her 42nd Birthday Without Prince Harry

Meghan Markle celebrated her 42nd birthday, and it sounds perfect. To kick off her birthday celebration, she went to see the Barbie movie with some girlfriends, including Portia De Rossi, before going to dinner … and Prince Harry was nowhere to be found.

Meghan's birthday celebration was actually a girls' night.

Sources told Page Six that Meghan and her friends went to a Santa Barbara movie theater to see Barbie before heading to the San Ysidro Ranch hotel for dinner earlier this week.

The sources claimed that during dinner, the duchess posed for photos, made videos and chatted with a group celebrating a bachelorette party.

"Meghan went over to wish the bride good luck," an onlooker shared.

Her celebration with Harry happened on a different night.

Just because Meghan kicked off her birthday celebration with her besties doesn’t mean that she didn’t celebrate with her husband.

The royal couple were spotted out just a couple of days later, enjoying dinner together.

They were all smiles during their meal at celebrity hotspot Tre Lune in Montecito, California, and were joined by a friend.

The celebration didn't stop there.

Meghan looked gorgeous in a strapless black and white dress, while Harry looked relaxed in a casual shirt and pants.

The couple reportedly planned to spend the actual day of Meghan's birth, August 4, at home with their two children, Archie, 4 and Lilibet, 2.

Honestly, this sounds like the perfect way to celebrate a birthday week. Girls' night, a nice dinner with your spouse, and then a relaxing day with the kids.

Meghan and Harry have been lying low the past few months, which has of course led to speculation that their relationship is in trouble.

"It’s not true. It’s literally made up," a source close to the couple told Page Six.

Harry is preparing for a trip to Tokyo for the ISPS Sports Values Summit-Special Edition where he will take part in the 2023 Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup.

They will not be included in plans to honor the late Queen.

There’s no word if Meghan will join him on that trip, but she will be traveling with him to Germany for the Invictus Games in September.

It has been reported that the couple will not be joining the rest of the family in Scotland at Balmoral to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death.

Sources claim that there was no "outreach" to the couple from the senior royals to include them in any plans.
