The last thing you need when working out at the gym at night is a gym bro showing up to impress you. Or at least, try and fail to impress you. But that’s what happened for one person on TikTok, who shared a video she caught of a guy jumping up to do the monkey bars as she was in the middle of doing the workout herself.
After she shared the video to TikTok, other people left comments to share how wrong the gym bro was for interrupting her workout. Although some claimed the gym is a public place for other people to have free reign over trying out the machines, others were quick to come to the TikToker’s defense. One even commented, “It’s also the fact we know for SURE he wouldn’t do that to a guy.”
The gym bro seemed to have no problem showing off and blocking the woman’s workout.

The TikTok user who was filming herself at the gym shared a video where she started to use the monkey bar equipment. Just as she is about to move across the bars, however, a man joins her and starts to do pull-ups. She changes her mind and leaves the machine, but it’s all caught on her phone, because she had been recording her workout before the gym-goer approached her.
They don’t say anything to each other in the video, but it’s obvious the guy’s move annoys her. She posted a video following the one where the same guy appears in the background of another one of her gym videos. Sure, he could just have a crush on her and want to introduce himself, but is this the way to go about it at his big age? Definitely not, according to those who commented on her video.
“His mom allowed him to run up the slide when other kids were lining up to go down,” one person commented on TikTok.
Another added, “He probably thinks he’s flirting.”
Someone replied to that comment thread to agree, saying, “Yeah, I think he tried to start something and then chickened out.”
Others think there is a wild double standard and that the guy would have never done the same thing if a man had been using the equipment. Of course, that’s even truer if he was indeed trying to hit on the woman who shared the video. But to many it still doesn’t make his actions right.
“Camera or not the thing is she [was] using it FIRST,” someone commented. “Bet he wouldn’t insert himself in the middle [of another] man set.”
Others wrote that gym patrons in the background who saw the interaction should have intervened. Although nothing nefarious is going on in the video, it does appear to make the woman look uncomfortable. There’s even a man in the background close by who watches the other man get on the machine while the woman is using it. If anyone did intervene to say something on the woman’s behalf, however, it didn’t make it into the edited video on TikTok.
