Khloé Kardashian & Jason Kelce Both Tried To Celebrate the Fourth & Got Roasted for It

Khloé Kardashian and Jason Kelce’s celebratory Fourth of July posts were nothing out of the ordinary — and that’s precisely why some fans had an issue with them. President Donald Trump signed his “Big Beautiful Bill” into law on Independence Day this year. To some fans, the fact that Khloé and Jason could both celebrate in spite of this made it pretty clear that they’re “living a different reality.”

Jason Kelce called the Fourth a day to ‘set aside our differences.’

In response, some fans urged the former NFL player to “read the room.” Jason, 37, took to Instagram on July 4 to share that he’s a big fan of the holiday. “Man I love the 4th!” Jason wrote. “One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America.” However, many of Jason’s fans told him that there’s nothing to celebrate at the moment. Some accused Jason of being “a bit tone deaf” and clearly privileged.

“It’s a very scary day in our country, Jason,” one fan wrote. “Those of us who are not millionaires have nothing to celebrate today.” Many of the critics could understand the message Jason was going for, but argued that now’s not the time to share it.

“I really do love you Jason but no, we actually can’t just set aside our differences,” a second fan wrote. “The reason why I say that is because I actually do love this country and what this country is becoming is not something I’m proud of.”

Numerous fans explained why it’s really not as simple as “setting aside our differences.” One person wrote: “Unfortunately, Jason, this is not real life for many. They signed the worst bill for so many Americans today just to rub it in our faces. I know it’s hard to understand, but so many will suffer.”

A fourth fan called Jason’s post “really disappointing” even though they “understand that [he’s] coming from a place of wanting unity.”

“love u bud but this is so out of touch,” a fifth person wrote. “i beg you please read the room rn.”

Khloé faced similar backlash in response to her Fourth of July post.

Like Jason, Khloé seemed to have a really fun Fourth of July — and many fans couldn’t relate. In a series of photos that she shared on Instagram, she and her kids sported patriotic outfits as they enjoyed festive treats. Khloé’s caption was simple: “Happy 4th ♥️🇺🇸 celebrating life through their eyes makes my heart full ♥️.”

But fans wanted to know exactly what Khloé and her family were celebrating. “Must be nice to afford healthcare for your well fed children,” one critic commented on the post.

A second person added, “There [are] children being ripped apart from there families, what exactly are we celebrating??”

“There’s people dying khloe,” a third fan added, while a fourth fan saw the post as evidence that Khloé is “so not in touch with real world issues.”

As with Jason, some fans were so disappointed because they expected more from Khloé. “Very disappointed in you Khloe!!” one fan commented. “I thought you were more aware and sensitive to what’s going on in the world.”

However, some fans defended the posts.

While some fans were disappointed by how Jason, Khloé, and other celebrities chose to use their platforms, others saw nothing wrong with what they posted.

Defending Khloé, one fan wrote: “Wow. People need to sit down and let her enjoy life and be happy with her kids. How does that equal her not caring or not being sensitive to what’s going on in the world?”

Similarly, a few fans argued that Jason’s post was not political. One fan said, “You can love the 4th of July and still not agree with this country’s politics.”
