What to Know
On November 3, 2026, the blue wave finally caught momentum, giving Democrats control of the House and the Senate. It was a relief for many who’ve had enough of President Donald Trump and gave them hope for change.
Many celebrities celebrated the victories, even some with close ties to the Trump family. Kim Kardashian, who’s considered Ivanka Trump among her closest friends for more than a decade, celebrated with an X post that seemed to throw shade at the Trumps.
Kardashian posted bright and early on Wednesday morning.
True to form, Kardashian posted a short video of herself in a sexy outfit looking straight into the camera. She captioned the post with a very simple, “GOOD MORNING AMERICA.” The timing of the post seemed particularly politically motivated to her millions of followers.
“Nah baby sit this one out,” one person wrote alongside a photo of Kardashian and the President at the White House.
“You’re literally a Republican?” Another person commented.
This person could see her true colors. “You look good but we know you maga.”
Others thought the post was totally fake.
Because Kardashian and Trump have been publicly close friends for a long time, the post seemed like nothing more than another attempt to get attention.
“Was this before dinner with the Kushners?” Someone asked.
This person felt like Kardashian fell flat with the video.
“Can’t even get 5000 retweets on a thirst trap, baby. It’s over; you’re about as washed as Trump,” they wrote.
We can’t forget the pair’s past social media shoutouts.
Both Kardashian and Trump have shared social media posts about each other in the past. According to Hello!, Trump posted a birthday message to Kardashian on October 21, just weeks before the midterms.
“Happy happy birthday @kimkardashian,” she wrote on her Instagram story along with a photo of the pair. “Wishing you only great things in the year ahead.”
In 2024, Kardashian shared a similar post about Trump just weeks before the Presidential election. ““No one sweeter than you […] Happy Birthday,” she wrote alongside a photo.
“kim k posting this a week before the biggest election in history is a deliberate choice and i’m not saying i expected anything more from her or her family but wow!!” Someone shared on X at the time.
But others defended her. “Okay and? Her birthday happens to be a week before the election. How can that be changed? If they’re friends this is standard operating procedure, shoutout your friend on social media for their birthday. Calm down.”
Kardashian did appear on television that morning.
She posted the video before her appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, and some think she posted it as a promo, not political commentary.
“The way she was referring to the Good Morning America show and not about the midterms results,” someone wrote.
“The the way I was about to drag Kim Kardashian because I thought she was being shady, but she’s actually going to good morning America! Lord I’m glad I pulled back! It’s still in the drafts though just in case!” Another person wrote.
Whether she intended it as shade or a shoutout, we’ll probably never know. But it’s hard to dismiss that they’re all slick as the oil they put on their perfect skin.
