Tori Spelling and Kim Kardashian might have been close pals once upon a time, but it doesn’t sound like they’ll be getting together to reminisce about the good old days anytime soon. On Wednesday’s episode of Tori’s misSPELLING podcast, Tori shared the awkward story of running into Kim while they were each taking their kids trick-or-treating on Halloween … and apparently, Kim acted like she didn’t even know her.
Tori said she saw Kim “looking” at her while they were both out on Halloween night.
On the podcast, Tori said that she was out trick-or-treating in Hidden Hills, California with her kids when she spotted Kim out with her kids, too — and she was pretty sure that Kim saw her.
“I’m really good at clocking people, so out of the corner of my eye, without letting her know I’m looking at her, I can see that she [is] look[ing] at me,” Tori said, adding that she noticed Kim say something to her friend before they both looked at her.
“I’m like, ‘Oh, Kim sees I’m here, I know Kim’s here,’ and I’m like, ‘I haven’t seen her in so long. God, it would be good to reconnect,’” Tori explained, adding that at the moment, she felt too “nervous” to approach Kim herself.
She made an attempt to connect with Kim later when she ran into their group again.
After catching up with old friend Jessica Simpson, Tori decided to give talking to Kim a shot the next time she saw her, but her efforts were thwarted by Kim’s security team.
“I go, ‘Kim!’ And I had my arms out and my hands out, like I’m going in to [wave],” Tori said. “As I do this, a bodyguard comes out of nowhere and boom, [there’s] an arm blocking me right across me, and he goes, ‘Excuse me, I’m sorry, no.'”
Tori said she felt “shamed.”
Though she did admit that the bodyguard was “very professional,” the moment did take the wind out of her sails a bit.
“My heart dropped into my feet, and I was like, ‘I’m never saying hi to anyone again,'” she continued. “She never heard me say ‘Kim.’ She never saw me at that moment. And you know what, the bodyguard didn’t know who I was. He was doing his job.”
Apparently, she and Kim go way back.
Also in the episode, Tori said that she and Kim have known each other for a long time, since Kim was once close with Tori’s brother, Randy Spelling.
“She was over at the manor all the time,” she said. “It was like, Paris [Hilton and] Kim, they were really good friends. So in turn, we were family friends.”
Despite the awkward run-in, Tori called her old friend a “really good human.”
