Grimes and Elon Musk have struggled to create a peaceful co-parenting relationship since they broke up in 2021 — and that might be an understatement. But now, it seems like the drama between them is being dialed up a notch.
After a fan noticed that the former couple was no longer following each other on X, Grimes revealed that Elon has actually blocked her on social media… despite the fact that they still need to interact to care for their children.
Grimes shared the update on X.
For context I'm just living my life. He followed me then blocked me. I'm not gna be following and unfollowing. My only priority is co parenting, i am not interested in public dramatics. This is so silly lol

Someone pointed out that Grimes and Elon were no longer following each other on X, leading one person to write, “Day ruined. I’ll be in bed, don’t text.”
Grimes responded to that post to explain what really happened behind the scenes. “For context I’m just living my life,” she said. “He followed me then blocked me. I’m not gna be following and unfollowing. My only priority is co parenting, i am not interested in public dramatics. This is so silly lol.”
Their co-parenting relationship has been especially contentious over the past year.
Elon and Grimes share three children together, 4-year-old X AE A-XII, 3-year-old Exa Dark Sideræl, and 2-year-old Techno Mechanicus.
Much of their custody battle over the children has played out publicly since their split, and in November 2024, it seemed to come to a head when Grimes took to X to reveal exactly what she had been going through in her courtroom drama with Elon.
“Spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers rights having my instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn’t have my kids and fighting and detaching from the love of my life as he becomes unrecognizable to me, with a fraction of his resources (or iq/ strategy experience), all the while I didn’t see one of my babies for 5 months,” she wrote at the time.
Months later, Grimes also made it clear she didn’t approve of Elon bringing her son to events at the White House, stating that she had wanted to keep him “offline.”
Elon came under fire earlier this week for his comments about his trans daughter.
Elon also made headlines when he deadnamed and misgendered his daughter, Vivian Wilson, after Gavin Newsom’s press office shared a post on X aimed at him that said they were “sorry your daughter hates you.”
“I assume you’re referring to my son, Xavier, who has a tragic mental illness caused by the evil woke mind virus you push on vulnerable children,” Elon replied. “I love Xavier very much and hope he recovers. My daughters are Azure, Exa (she goes by Y) and Arcadia, and they do indeed love me very much.”
This earned Elon plenty of fresh backlash, and now that the public knows about whatever beef he’s still got going on with Grimes, it sounds like he might want to buckle up. This could turn out to be a rough week!
