What to Know
When it comes to her online critics, Joy-Anna Duggar simply cannot catch a break this week. Days after she came under fire for sharing her Sunday morning routine with her three children, she’s catching a lot of flak again — this time for a post that she shared aimed at fellow families who are preparing for their Super Bowl watch parties this weekend. The comments are rough.
The photos show Joy making a charcuterie board.
As part of a social media partnership with Black Creek Cheese, Joy shared a charcuterie board that she made with the brand’s products, including two different flavors of cheese. Most of the shots seem to be taken in the kitchen, but there’s also a picture of Joy leaning over to present the board to her fam in their living room as husband Austin and the kids gather around on the couch.
“This year for the big game, we’re bringing the heat with @blackcreekcheese newest flavor, Ghost Pepper. It’s bold, creamy, and perfect for game day snacks that don’t require a ton of effort (because… kids 😅),” Joy wrote in her caption.
People are pretty surprised by the state of her living room.
On Reddit, people simply could not get over the fact that Joy doesn’t have a coffee table in her living room… among plenty of other criticisms. One person even called her a “human coffee table” since she was the one holding the charcuterie board.
“In my mind, there isn’t a TV in the room either. Just another staged photo where the older boys stare at the wall, or a framed photo of Jesus,” one commenter wrote.
To be fair, Joy and Austin did recently purchase this home, so maybe they’re still working on furnishing it? And there were a few fellow moms who defended her choice to avoid coffee tables for now because of how young her kids are.
“I couldn’t have a coffee table until my youngest was 8,” one mom wrote. “They destroyed them. There’s enough legitimate reasons to snark I wouldn’t be wasting it on this.”
On Instagram, a lot of Joy’s comments seemed intrusive.
The situation wasn’t much better for Joy on the comments on her actual post… for all kinds of reasons.
Not only did one person ask the very inappropriate question “Does the little girl have down syndrome?” but many others questioned Joy for saying she was even going to watch the Super Bowl in the first place.
“Yeah, I won’t be watching the America hating a Super Bowl this year. As Christians you shouldn’t want to watch it either because you know what they hate us. They hate God and they hate America,” one commenter wrote.
Hopefully, Joy isn’t reading these comments. It’s brutal on her IG!
