What to Know
Apparently, JD Vance learned nothing from his Erika Kirk hug heard and seen around the world. After the pair embraced on-stage following Charlie Kirk’s death, the internet went wild with theories pushing the two of them together as though this is Love Island and not, you know, the real world. But to be fair, United States politics are as wild as reality TV these days, so honestly, that sort of tracks.
But when Vance posted on X (formerly Twitter) about attending a Turning Point USA event, he had to have known the backlash and response he would get from his critics. Social media is no place for kind words or the benefit of the doubt, and Vance critics and haters were quick to respond to the post with memes, jokes, and countdowns to when they think Vance will make another public mistake involving Erika.
JD Vance’s involvement in Turning Point USA has people raising their eyebrows.

In Vance’s post, he wrote, “Excited to visit the University of Georgia next month for another Turning Point event in the SEC!.” He shared a photo with other Turning Point USA events which list other guests set to make their own appearances. However, all anyone really cares about is seeing Vance get close to Erika again.
“Oh you’re going on tour with ERIKA?!” One user responded under the X post, “What a cute little romantic getaway! Kash can give you some pointers about romancing your little sidepiece on the public dime.”
Another person wrote, “The mourning tour continues. I’m sure you’ll be there to console her as she works through her grief.”
Someone else shared a clearly edited photo of Vance and Erika on-stage in a tight embrace with Erika standing on her diseased husband’s coffin. That user wrote, “I am sure they are looking forward to having you there Mr. VP.”
Others don’t even really understand why Vance has chosen to lean so heavily into an organization outside of the White House with so much else going on in the U.S. and beyond.
People are worried about Erika Kirk and JD Vance running for office together.

The memes and tweets might seem like overkill, but Erika did say, to a crowd full of people, that the only person who will come close to replacing her husband, but that she sees “some similarities” of Charlie in Vance. Those two statements did not need to be said in the same sentence, but they were. And people don’t forget those kinds of things.
Now, some believe Erika and Vance’s connection has evolved into shared political aspirations. Someone posted on X that the Vance/Kirk ticket will go public soon and it’s a lot to take in, even as a rumor.
Seemingly in response to those rumors, someone posted, “We gotta suffer under JD Vance and Erika Kirk Vance.”
Someone else theorized, “The 2028 GOP ticket will be Vance/Kirk but with the expectation they will lose.”
JD Vance is a staunch Turning Point USA supporter apparently.
Although Vance is not part of Turning Point USA in any official capacity, after Charlie’s September 2025 death, he became known for showing his support for the far-right conservative group. Now, his Turning Point USa appearance on the tour poster proves that even further. But it might have a little something to do with Turning Point USA reportedly supporting Vance if he runs for president in 2028.
According to ABC News, Turning Point USA will begin to show early support for Vance and roll out that support in Iowa and New Hampshire first. Does that also include Erika, per the theory about the pair’s working relationship? Some people seem to think so.
