What to Know
For as long as wax museums have existed, there have been some that get it right and some that get it hilariously wrong. In the past, celebrities like The Rock have fallen victim to their own wax figures, and now, it’s Kevin Hart‘s turn. Fortunately, this comedian has no problem poking fun at himself, and now, his video about his new (and completely unrecognizable) wax figure is going viral.
Kevin shared a close up look at the figure on Instagram.
The new wax figure can be found at Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and it’s a doozy.
Kevin shared a close up look at the figure in an Instagram Reel, and judging by the way the face on his wax figure looks, there’s a very good chance that many fans wouldn’t even recognize him (or know who this figure is supposed to represent). It’s not bad, objectively speaking… it’s just absolutely not Kevin Hart.
“WTTTTFFFFF …. What did I do to these people…. This is an attack…. Who in the f— is this??????” Kevin wrote. “At this point these museums are just trying to make me cry….. This s— has to stop.”
He went on to add that he “demands a redo” on this one, and it’s hard to blame him — why wouldn’t he want his wax figure to actually look like him?
People have a lot of feelings about it.
The comments are flooded with some pretty hilarious taxes on the wax figure, including multiple people dubbing him “Devin Hart” instead of Kevin Hart and saying that this must be the “Temu version” of the actor.
“They gave him the Jim Carrey face lift,” one commenter joked, while another wrote, “You asked for Kevin Hart and got Kevin The Weeknd.” (They have a point — his face does kind of look more like the Weeknd’s face than Kevin’s).
Imagine just waking up one day and discovering that a new wax figure of you exists, and it looks nothing like you. It has to be a wild experience (but then again, so do most things when it comes to being a celebrity).
Even fellow celebs are getting in on the ribbing.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been through this with his own wax figure before, but that didn’t stop him from mocking his friend a bit, writing, “It’s PERFECT. Don’t change a thing.”
“Cook. Him,” Don Cheadle wrote, adding a fire emoji.
Unfortunately, it feels pretty rare for wax figures to be done in the right way (AKA, created so they look exactly like the celebrity they’re supposed to look like without also giving off all those unsettling vibes) and Kevin is simply the latest victim.
Maybe the museum will end up doing a redo since Kevin did request one. At this point, it can’t get any worse, right?
