Influencer Left Her Baby Alone in a Hotel Room to Get a Massage & the Internet Had a Lot to Say

Being an influencer is apparently pretty hard when every move is examined under a microscope. But when Taleigha Skye left her six-month-old baby alone in her Bali hotel room so she could get a massage nearby, it was a moment that wasn’t really hidden as it was heavily scrutinized by other users on social media.

Afterward, Taleigha issues an apology for her actions. She also explained what happened, how close she was to her hotel room, and her baby, and how she also understands that nothing can really explain away what happened. While some of her fans shared support for her as a “great mom,” others definitely needed to hear that explanation, because it sounds bad no matter how you look at it.

Taleigha Skye was slammed for her mistake with her infant.

According to Daily Mail, Taleigha shared a now-deleted TikTok of herself holding a recording device where she could check on her baby as she made her way to her foot massage appointment at the hotel where she was staying. The issue, of course, is that she left her son alone, even if she was able to remotely keep an eye on him.

After she posted, and then deleted, the video, users took to Reddit to share their thoughts on the incident. Some wondered why Taleigha would feel comfortable leaving her infant alone while in a hotel, even if she was close enough to check on him in seconds if something were to go wrong. Others wondered if Taleigha forgot what happened to Madeline McCann, the three-year-old who went missing from her room at a resort in Portugal while her parents dined at the resort around 160 feet away.

“What’s the point of bringing the camera along if she can’t get back to him instantly if something happens?!” Someone commented on the Reddit post. “Same girl that took him at a week old to her hair appt inside a salon with fumes and chemicals.”

Another apparent critic of the influencer wrote, “Are we surprised? She’s the same person who uses her children for content. She put them in danger daily.”

A parent chimed in with, “It just makes me so sad!!! When I had my son I used to have recurring nightmares that I would return to work and leave him at home and be at work watching him on the security camera. He is almost two and I couldn’t even fathom leaving him alone, I always take him in with me if I’m popping into the petrol station, convenience store etc. I just can’t leave him alone.”

And, upon seeing Taleigha allegedly deleting posts and negative comments, a Redditor commented, “She uploaded another TikTok after it and people were questioning her actions. She just deleted those comments. Screams guilty to me.”

She issued an apology on TikTok.

@justgloliving There’s a difference between needing a break and total lack of judgment. some things just don't make sense. it's like people don't really learn huh … 😅😅 #parenting #childsafety #unfiltered #yap ♬ original sound – MYREEK

According to People, Taleigha posted in her TikTok Stories (though the post has not expired) about the incident. She apologized for what happened and took responsibility for it. That being said, according to her haters on Reddit, she had continued to delete comments shaming her as a parent, so take her apology how you will.

“I made a poor decision, and I take full responsibility for it,” she wrote on TikTok. “Although I was only metres away from the locked resort room and had constant monitoring, I recognise that this did not make the situation safe.” The influencer added, “We do have a lovely nanny here in Bali who was unavailable that day. This is not a justification, just context. I understand the seriousness of my actions, and I can confidently say this is the first and last time it will ever happen.”

Taleigha Skye also explained what happened.

Taleigha also shared a TikTok post with a sort of explanation of what happened with her infant being left in her hotel room. In the post, Taleigha doesn’t excuse what she did, but she does offer an explanation, seemingly to get her followers and other users to better understand why she did what she did.

“I want to clear up some misinformation that’s been circulating,” she wrote on the screen in a photo post on her page. “I did not leave the resort. I did not attend an appointment. The hotel room was in my direct sight, and the pool and wellness area were only metres away. I was not away from the room for a long period of time. I was watching him on the monitor the entire time and was close enough that I could access the room in seconds if I needed.”
