We’ve all had those confused moments in our lives. Whether it’s an inside joke with friends that we couldn’t quite decipher right away or there’s something bigger and life-changing being announced right in front of us. Sometimes our brains just need a little more time to catch up! Such was the case for Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. He recently admitted on an episode of his podcast that he does with his brother, Jason Kelce, that when Jason and his wife, Kylie, told everyone that they were expecting their first baby, Travis basically had zero idea what was going on. Poor Travis! Continually one step behind.

On the April 22, 2026, episode of Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, it was revealed that sometimes Travis just needs a minute to try and digest new information.
The brothers got into the topic when their social media director, who goes by the nickname “Jets Jake,” shared news with the brothers that he and his wife are expecting a baby. To announce this big news, Jake had his wife call into the show to ask the brothers for advice on how the couple should prepare for parenthood.
You could tell that Jason could tell almost right away that it was Jake’s wife on the call, but Travis took a minute longer to pick up this. “I’m always, like, three days late on, like, figuring out what the f— just happened,” he joked. Hey, at least he can joke about it!
His friend’s news prompted Travis to share what went through his mind when his brother and his wife revealed their first pregnancy news to him a few years back.
Apparently, there were props involved and Travis just did not get it.
It’s actually a pretty cute story if you can get past Travis having zero clue that he was about to become an uncle!
It was shared on the podcast that Jason and Kylie gave Travis a humidor and some baby socks to announce they were expecting and it just did not compute what they were trying to tell him. “I’m over here opening a humidor, there’s, like, two boots, and I’m, like, why the f— are there, like, baby socks? And then I look up at Kylie. I’m like, ‘Thanks for the humidor, but what the f— are these?'” he shared.
It sounds like it was supposed to be a big celebratory moment with a bit of a wink, but things didn’t quite go as planned for the couple.
It’s really funny that this moment has come back to haunt him because Jason actually told E! News that his brother is a really great uncle to his kids. “Travis is the perfect uncle,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center shared with the entertainment news outlet in 2023. There you go, Travis. That’s all that matters in the end!
Speaking of moments that may come back to haunt you, there is another one from Travis’ past that may outlive everything this man is destined to do in life.
Travis tweeted something in 2011 that people bring up over 15 years later.

It has been much talked about on social media and beyond for many, many years. As shown and discussed in this Reddit thread, in 2011, Travis tweeted, “I just gave a squirle a peice of bread and it straight smashed all of it [sic]!!!! I had no idea they ate bread like that!! Haha #crazy.”
While one person in the Reddit thread explains that this is probably their “fav tweet of all time,” there are some people who look at something like this that’s filled with spelling errors, let alone what the hilarious tweet is actually about, and thinks that it speaks to Travis’ overall intelligence.
“Travis was just trying to bond with someone on his level,” someone commented in the Reddit thread. Ouch! Another person couldn’t help themselves by bringing his fiancé, Taylor Swift, into the mix. “She’s finally found someone to make her seem intelligent,” they wrote. Yikes. What a tough crowd!
