Demi Moore’s Appearance at Cannes Has Fans Genuinely Worried & They’re Not Staying Quiet

Somehow, in between Lizzo singing about looking “good as hell” and Meghan Trainor making “that bass” a mantra for girls and women everywhere and Ozempic becoming easier and easier to find, skinny diet culture came back. And with it, came celebrities ready to lose as much weight as possible to achieve a look that can only be described as early 2000s Kate Moss chic.

We can now add Demi Moore to that list of celebrities whose weight has concerned fans. When a photo of her from the Cannes Film Festival red carpet was shared on X (formerly Twitter), and her “toned arms” were mentioned, users quickly replied to the post to share what they really think is happening.

Demi Moore’s possible weight loss is concerning.

It’s never a good idea to speculate on why someone might have had a quick weight loss, but when it comes to Moore, people can’t help but share concern over what is going on. Is she another casualty of the thin movement in Hollywood, courtesy of fad diets and injections that are, once again, reminiscent of the late 90s and early 2000s? Or is it something else?

“What is the reason?” One user wrote, and shared a photo of Ariana Grande with the comment. “Ariana and now Demi. Did they stop eating or what?”

Another person wrote, in reference to the “toned” word choice, “That isn’t toned. That is malnourishment.”

As far as blaming it on Ozempic, someone added, “I’m starting to believe something other than Ozempic is responsible for this outbreak  of skeletons. I know at least 20 people on that poison and none of them look like this.”

Some people blame it on our culture.

Others commented on the X post to urge the original poster, the New York Post, to stop promoting content like this. From the photo, it looks like Moore lost a lot of weight, seemingly in a short period of time. But, again, it’s hard to say the exact reason. And as some people try to figure it out, others have a lot to say about Moore’s thin look.

“Sorry, but this looks too extreme to me,” a commenter added under the X post.

Someone else noted, “Interesting choice of words. Seems like a case when GLP’s go wrong. Most GLP usage goes wrong comes down to a trifecta: Not enough protein, hormones not optimized and inadequate resistance training.”

Extremely thin celebrities have become the norm again.

Moore isn’t the only notably thinner celebrity on fans’ radar right now. Some blame it on Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs. Others see it as a direct result of what is suddenly “in” as a trend.

Someone pointed out specific celebrities who have been the topic of discussion because of their changing weight: “Lots of celebrities have been appearing to get skinnier and skinnier recently, Demi Moore has gone viral today, but previously we’ve had Margot Robbie & Ariana Grande go through drastic changes like this. Lots of people are speculating Ozempification.”

Different bodies, including noticeably thinner bodies, are nothing to be concerned about at face value. But when it starts to appear concerning and turns into a trend where celebrities look sick, that’s where the concern comes in. Whereas fuller figures and different body types had a decent run, it seems like the thin physique is once again considered to be a fashion in, whether everyone is ready for it or not.
