We all probably remember the basics about how genes combine from our high school biology days, right? When a baby is made, it gets some DNA from the paternal side and some DNA from the maternal side. There are genes that are dominant and some that are recessive, and the baby often ends up looking like a bit of both parents, maybe pairing Dad's eyes with Mom's family chin. But then there are the kids who look SO MUCH like one parent that it makes people wonder if the other parent's genes were even invited to the DNA party!
We see this all the time with our real-world friends, but it's always fun to see what happens when famous DNA gets replicated. Not only is it kind of wild for a child to look like someone famous, but sometimes there are some real advantages. For example, if someone is a kid whose mom is literally one of the world's most famous supermodels (we're talking about none other than Cindy Crawford here!), coming out of the womb looking like a carbon copy of her mother isn't just good luck, it's the start of a great career path.
But Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber aren't the only celebrity mother and daughter who basically share the same lovely face. There are actually a number of mother/daughter celebrity twins out there, though not all the girls have chosen to follow in their mother's famous footsteps.

Sometimes, when it comes to the Kardashians, it can be hard to tell which members of the family look alike due to DNA and which look alike due to sharing the same makeup artist, glam squad, and plastic surgeon. But we think 4-year-old Chicago is the Kim clone out of her four kids, something that Kim might agree with, given that she's described Chi as her "baby girl twin."
Christie Brinkley & Sailor Brinkley-Cook
Another supermodel with a mirror-image daughter is the iconic (and ageless) Christie Brinkley. Her daughter, Sailor, is 23 and, like her mother, has dabbled in modeling. She also filled in for her mom when an injury forced Christie to quit Dancing With the Stars in 2019.
Gwyneth Paltrow & Apple Martin
Gwyneth Paltrow got some mocking when she opted to name her now 17-year-old daughter Apple. But we're glad she choose that name, because it really sets us up well to do an "Apple doesn't fall far from the Gwyneth DNA tree" joke here!
Lisa Bonet & Zoë Kravitz
There's really no way that we can talk about look-alike moms and daughters and not include Lisa Bonet and Zoë Kravitz. Like, come on — that is the same face on two different bodies! They really do look like they could be twin sisters.
Uma Thurman & Maya Hawke
Here is a bit of a mystery: We don't think Uma Thurman and her ex-husband Ethan Hawke look alike, but we do think we could make a compelling argument that their daughter, Maya, looks a lot like both of them. We'll give credit to mom Uma for her nose, chin, and face shape, though!
