By now, most of us are in the thick of distance learning, aka hell. And while every school — and even every teacher — is doing things a little differently with online learning, there are a few things that I guarantee every parent is thinking while muddling through the school day at home.

No, we would not like to do the optional craft right now
I barely have time to make it through the required stuff. Optional stuff is just going out the window.
What do you mean you need another break?
Who knew a kindergartner need a “break” every 5 minutes? Ooh, look, there’s a fly! Oh wait, I have to go get some water. Huh? I went to the bathroom then got distracted coming back by a bajillion things that have nothing to do with anything!
Watching a kindergartner try to type a sentence is as painful as watching water come to boil
Nuff said.
A 4-day school week sounds good right about now
Friday Fun Day, anyone? This basically means the parents get to do their work during the daytime while the kids get to go to "TV school" and run around like feral animals. Sounds good to me!

Why can't school messages just come to one place (called my email)?
Now I have to check four different apps on my phone, in addition to my actual email, to make sure I don't miss the million messages sent by teachers, administrators, and the PTA in a million different ways.
