Ongoing family drama aside, people are confused about what the heck Brooklyn Beckham is doing with his life. Somewhere between modeling and warring with his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, Brooklyn decided he wanted to become a chef. And, thanks to frequent videos on social media, he would have his followers believe he achieved that. Well, more or less.
In one of his latest videos, Brooklyn makes pasta and homemade sauce aboard a yacht, and he takes things a step further by seemingly using ocean water from right outside of the vessel to boil the pasta. The entire thing seems to be a way for Brooklyn to promote his hot sauce, Cloud23, but what people are really talking about are his cooking methods, because, um, what?

In the video, Broonlyn is in a yacht that may or may not belong to him and wife Nicola Peltz. Who can really say when it comes to the mega rich, right? He announced that he’s going to make a paste dish in the video, but first, he needs to boil the water. Duh. So he takes a deep pot and scoops water directly from the ocean, or sea, right outside of the boat near a little plank on the back. Does he actually use the water to boil his pasta? I mean, he doesn’t deny it.
Elsewhere in the video, Brooklyn makes pasta sauce using tomatoes, fresh garlic, and other legitimate ingredients. The yacht’s chef looks on from time to time and, at the end of the video, tried the dish with him.
But if Brooklyn is laying the guy for his service on the yacht, it’s hard to say if his sounds of approval with the pasta dish are totally legit. Also, this does seem like a long version of an ad for Brooklyn’s hot sauce. Either way, no one really understands why he just had to use the salt water from the ocean. Maybe it was a way to drive engagement, though, because the comments under the TikTok are full of questions and concerns about that method of boiling pasta noodles.
He was swiftly trolled in the comments under the video.
Apparently, we have some ocean water experts in the house, because some commented on Brooklyn’s video to say that he likely boiled out any harmful elements in the ocean water. Others, however, pointed out the possibility of microplastics and microscopic bacteria. Again, that’s if Brooklyn actually used the water he scooped into the pot. And then there were others who trolled Brooklyn for his cooking video. Because you have to have the trolls.
One person joked, “Pasta water with a hint of burnt boat fuel please sir.”
“Tomato pasta with a side of dissenteria,” another user added.
Someone also wrote, “Brooklyn can you show me how to make a glass of water next?”
Then, another person asked, “Hi, quick question. I haven’t got the sea in my back garden. Will tap water do?”
Some people think his cooking videos are clickbait.
This isn’t Brooklyn’s first cooking video he posted on social media, and you can bet your collectible Spice Girls Barbie that it won’t be his last. But some people think he posts videos like this, wherein he uses outlandish ingredients or makes something simple like a grilled cheese, for clickbait and, well, attention.
Those who aren’t exactly fans of his discussed that possibility in a Reddit thread about Brooklyn’s many cooking videos and apparent aspirations in the food and beverage industry.
“He’s delusional,” a user commented. “They’re real and easy to mock but he can’t accept he isn’t a chef and the world can see it!”
“I think he thinks they are serious but his crew and support see it for what it is,” another person suggested. “I place the Meghan [Markle] Netflix show in the same category.”
Someone else had a more neutral take.
They wrote, “As someone who is also rubbish at cutting vegetables and was never taught how to properly season food, I feel represented by Brooklyn’s attempts at cooking. I think they’re serious enough in [that] he somehow makes money from them, and he gets to flog his hot sauce.”
That could be the case. Regardless, Brooklyn has continued to share his passions on social media with little regard for the trolls in the comments
