I am the mom of eight kids and in my brief 40-something years on this planet, I have worked in the U.S. Senate and have been a Ben and Jerry's tour guide, a restaurant-owner, and a dog musher. My careers as both a writer and a mother began before I could Google my research/symptoms. I have written 15 books and have published articles in The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Salon.com, Redbook, Family Circle and many other publications. I am also a bad gardener, a lazy knitter, a wannabe quilter and a mad baker (no, really, I'm good).
