Human beings are far from perfect. We act irrationally and often donât make sense. One mind-boggling human behavior is cheating. Many pieces of art such as books and plays have been written on the subject. Countless scientific studies exist as well, and itâs still hard to explain.
Celebrities are not immune to this human flaw. Throughout modern history we have seen so many apparently happy couples be rocked to their core by affairs and infidelity. Here are some of the most shocking affairs to hit headlines over the years.
Adam Levine was accused of cheating on Behati Prinsloo.
In 2022, Instagram model Sumner Stroh came forward and accused the Maroon 5 singer of cheating on his wife, Behati Prinsloo, who was pregnant at the time with the coupleâs third child. Sumner even shared screenshots of DMs she alleged were from Adam. In one of them he asked to name his unborn child after her. After Sumner came forward, so did three other women with similar stories.
Adam issued a statement to TMZ about the situation. âI used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life,â it read. âIn certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.â
Tom Sandoval cheated on Ariana Madix.
Vanderpump Rules fans were in for a major shock in March 2023. Ariana Madix discovered her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, was cheating on her when she stumbled upon a sexually charged selfie video on his phone. To make matters even worse, Tom was cheating with her best friend, Raquel Leviss. It appeared as if Raquel was trying to cover up the six month affair by pretending to be into Tom Schwartz. What a "Scandoval."

Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloé Kardashian multiple times.
Basketball star Tristan Thompson is a repeat offender. In 2018 he cheated on KhloĂ© Kardashian with her sisterâs best friend, Jordan Woods. The couple broke up as a result but got back together. The following year it came to light that Tristan cheated again and had fathered a child with another woman while he and KhloĂ© were in the process of expanding their family through surrogacy.

Tiger Woods cheated on Elin Nordegren.
The public knew something was up in 2009 when Elin Nordegren smashed in husband Tiger Woodsâ rear car windows with his golf clubs. Fans soon learned that Tiger had cheated on his wife with more than 120 different women. Tiger sought treatment for sex addiction. The couple divorced the following year.
Eddie Fisher cheated on Debbie Reynolds
This is an old school Hollywood love triangle. Carrie Fisherâs parents, Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, got married in 1955. Eddie cheated on Debbie with her friend Elizabeth Taylor, widow of his best friend Michael Todd. He would go on to divorce Debbie and marry Elizabeth in 1959. That marriage only lasted five years. Eddie would go on to have three more wives.
Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated on Maria Shriver.
Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger first met in 1977 through a mutual friend. They were married in 1986 and share four kids: Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher. In 2011 it came to light that Arnold had cheated on Maria with the family's housekeeper 14 years ago. As a result of that affair, Joseph Baena was born. Arnold and Maria announced their separation after his second term as governor ended. Their divorce was finalized in 2021.
Kenneth Branagh cheated on Emma Thompson.
Remember that heartbreaking scene in Love Actually when Emma Thompsonâs character finds out her husband is cheating on her because she didnât receive the expensive necklace she found hidden amongst his things for Christmas? Turns out she drew on her own real-life experiences with ex-husband Kenneth Branagh to find the emotional connection in that moment.
The couple was married in 1989 but divorced in 1995. At the time, the couple blamed hectic work schedules but the truth came out later. Emma actually discovered Kenneth was having an affair with Helena Bonham Carter. Kenneth and Helena would go on to date for five years.

This one is juicy. Livia and Colin were married in 1997 and share two sons, Luca and Mateo. In 2015 Livia had an affair with Marco Brancaccia, an Italian journalist. She then accused him of stalking her but later confessed that wasnât true. Colin and Livia tried to make things work after the affair but ultimately called it quits in 2019.
