Amy Duggar has decided to come out swinging against the Institute in Basic Life Principles and her in-laws in a series of very revealing TikTok videos. She's been sharing some insider information about some of the more bizarre rules her Uncle Jim Bob has enforced through the years under the influence of the ultra conservative religious organization.
The 36-year-old spilled the family tea on her TikTok and Instagram accounts.
Amy posted a video of herself with a story written below her face. "I remember the time I brought over Veggie Tales so that my cousins could at least see a cartoon," she began.
Though Amy also identifies as a Christian, her Uncle Jim Bob's family has always been far stricter than the way she and her mom, Deanna, lived. She thought that because Veggie Tales was a Christian program, it wouldn't be an issue, but boy was she wrong.
Jim Bob and Michelle weren't impressed with 'Veggie Tales.'
Amy went on to write that her aunt and uncle immediately nixed the idea and for a pretty funny reason.
"I was told 'Veggie Tales are not welcome at our house, I do not want my kids thinking vegetables talk,'" she recalled.
According to her comments, her followers thought this was just as funny as we did.
People quickly started posting jokes about the story.
"I heard celery is pretty shady," one person wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
Another person took aim at Michelle's controversial and often criticized educational skills. "I guess Michelle's homeschool curriculum didn't cover that," the person wrote.
Others applauded Amy for her renewed decision to uncover some of the mistaken teaching Jim Bob and Michelle subjected their kids to as part of their relationship with the IBLP.
Amy has told her TikTok followers that she plans to shed more light on the Duggars this year.
In another post she made on the app, Amy said this year she was going to spend more time being "bold."
"Bold in my actions, bold in my faith! Bold to stand up for what is right! Bold in everything I do!" she continued.
It appears she intends to use that boldness to expose the IBLP, just like her cousin Jinger Duggar says she's doing by writing her new book that just came out this week.
We can only imagine what other gossip Amy has.
"I was never a part of the IBLP officially but I was around family members who were very much involved and on the board of it," she captioned the original Veggie Tales post.
"I am just not going to be afraid anymore to speak the truth and expose the damaging cult that IBLP is," she continued in part.
We have a feeling Amy's just warming up. We'll be following her account closely to see what else she has to say.
