‘Euphoria’ Star Angus Cloud’s Cause of Death Has Been Revealed

Nearly two months after his untimely passing, the cause of death for actor Angus Cloud has been revealed. Angus, who starred in HBO's Euphoria as the lovable drug dealer Fezco, died unexpectedly at the age of 25 at his family’s home in Oakland, California on July 31. The young actor had been mourning the death of his father only weeks before, and while he was deeply saddened, his family maintained that he wasn’t trying to end his life at the time of his death. And now, the coroner's report is officially in, revealing the cause of Angus' untimely death.

The autopsy revealed that drugs were found in Angus' system.

The Alameda County Coroner told People that at the time of his death, Angus had multiple drugs in his system. They included cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines (depressant drugs often used to treat things like anxiety or insomnia).

His death has now been ruled as an accidental overdose.

His mother always maintained that his death was an accident.

At the time of his death, his mother, Lisa Cloud, swore that it wasn’t her son's intention to die.

"When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning," she wrote in a Facebook post. "I don't know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art project's, fell asleep and didn't wake up."

Angus had been open about his mental health struggles.

She asserted that while Angus may have "overdosed accidentally and tragically," it was "abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world."

In their initial statement to People on Angus' death, his family said, "Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

Lisa Cloud continues to uplift her son's memory.

In another Facebook post, she wrote, "Honor your grief but remember that Angus lives on in our hearts. Love is the force that binds us together. The value of life isn’t measured by how many days you live, it is measured by how you live those days."

"The 25 years Conor Angus Cloud Hickey spent in this life is immensely valuable. His beautiful body is no longer with us, but his spirit is free and unencumbered now," she wrote.

He was beloved by his costars.

After Angus' death, many of his Euphoria costars memorialized him on social media.

Maude Apatow, who played his character’s love interest, wrote: "He was the sweetest and made everyone around him so happy. He was just the best. Words can’t really capture how magical of a person he was. My heart is broken,"

Sydney Sweeney wrote that Angus "filled every room with laughter."

"I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it)," wrote Zendaya, who plays Rue, Fezco’s closest friend.
