Tense photos, public squabbles, and awkward award ceremony moments all seem to hint at trouble in Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's marriage. This is especially sad news, considering the pair hasn't even celebrated their first wedding anniversary yet. Could we be witnessing the end of Bennifer 2.0?
By now, almost everyone has seen footage of Ben and Jen looking tense at the Grammys.
The camera crew working Sunday night's award show caught Ben looking unhappy so many times that a new meme was born. In fact, he seemed to be having a rotten time at the event with no attempt to hide how he was feeling and even appeared to get into it with J.Lo at one point when she swatted at his chest after he whispered something in her ear.
Video footage has emerged that appears to show Ben and J.Lo arguing about his drinking.
Video footage taken at the premiere of J.Lo's movie, Shotgun Wedding, in January, appeared to capture the two having a rather fraught moment, with some people believing that Ben was defending his sobriety and promising Jen that he hadn't been drinking.
Then, at the Grammys, they were captured in a moment that looked like another argument until they realized they were on camera.
Ben's struggle to stay sober has been a very public one, with his last rehab visit taking place in 2018.
There have been rumors that things aren't exactly happy at home.
A source spoke with Radar Online over the holidays and claimed that Ben and Jen had been dealing with "marriage problems" over the months leading up to the Christmas rush.
The insider said their list of problems is "a mile long" and that things have been rocky since their summer wedding — and if recent footage is to be believed, it appears things aren't exactly improving.
Ben and J.Lo celebrated their 2022 wedding with multiple ceremonies.
It's hard to believe that a couple that made several treks down the aisle, from their elaborate Southern wedding at Ben's Georgia property to their quickie Las Vegas-style ceremony, could be having marital problems this soon after tying the knot. It seemed like they were so in love after decades of being apart!
That being said, the evidence that there is trouble in paradise is piling up. We're not sure what to believe.
Even happily married couples do squabble from time to time.
They say that the first year of marriage is the hardest, and why should that be any different for these two?
We're sure they're just dealing with the growing pains of upending their lives (and the lives of their combined five children) to start this new journey together. At least, that's what we're hoping.
The alternative could mean too many unpleasant things, including another end to the couple's highly publicized romance.
