It's safe to say that after more than 20 years together, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are one of Hollywood's golden power couples, but the way their relationship began is starting to make some fans a bit concerned. A video taken early in their relationship is circulating online, showing Beyoncé claiming that Jay-Z is the one who taught her "how to be a woman," and now, people are starting to debate whether she was "groomed." Beyoncè was 19 years old when they started dating, while Jay-Z was 31 at the time.

The video was originally filmed in 2006.
It was taken on his birthday five years after they started dating, with Beyoncé holding a wine glass as she praises Jay-Z, who was still her boyfriend at the time.
"You’ve taught me so many things. I was 20 years old when we first started dating. You taught me how to be a woman, you taught me how to live. You taught me how to be a friend. You’ve given me so much in life," she says in the video, getting a bit choked up.
She continued to emotionally proclaim her love for him.
"I just want you to be happy and every year I’m even more in love with you and I want to spend every day of my life with you. Happy birthday and I thank God for you every day!" Beyoncé concluded.
The video seems to be taken at a private dinner celebrating Jay-Z, who would have been turning 37 that year.
Fans are now raising a lot of questions.
The clip is going viral on X (formerly known as Twitter), with some people wondering why Jay-Z, a man, was the one to teach Beyoncé how to be a woman and others contemplating why they had been dating with such a large age gap in the first place.
"I mean she was kinda groomed so …" one person wrote.
Others thought it was a 'beautiful' moment.
Another person tweeted, "Y’all are always reaching. I am so thankful to my husband for helping me become a woman. I met him when I just turned 18 and was still a girl, without him I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. If y’all don’t get it that’s okay, but don’t criticize what you don’t understand."

In the end, Beyoncé and Jay-Z still seem very happy together.
They've been through a lot of ups and downs over the course of their relationship and marriage (Lemonade, anyone?) but they seem to have come out of all of it stronger and closer — and with three kids, at that.
How they feel about the situation is what matters most, and these two are clearly in it for the long haul.
