People Think Beyoncé’s New Wax Figure Looks Just Like Leah Remini

When it comes to wax figures of celebrities, it can go one of two ways: Either it's impossible to distinguish the living, breathing human from the figure or it's so off base it's unrecognizable. But here, we have a different problem. People are definitely able to recognize who the newest wax figure of Beyoncé is … but when they look at it, they're not thinking it's Queen Bey. They're convinced it's actually Leah Remini instead.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool unveiled its new figure this week.

The Blackpool, England, location of the museum shared the first glimpse at the new Beyoncé figure on Instagram, and unfortunately, fans weren't convinced it looked anything like the Renaissance singer, with multiple people pointing out that her skin tone was too light.

"Clearly, no one from a diverse background helped on this project. Again failure to have diverse teams results in this," read one Instagram comment.

Another fan quipped, "Y’all might as well melt the wax down and send this Temu Beyonce back to the factory."

Fans are convinced it actually looks more like another celebrity.

It seems that when a lot of people look at this figure, it's not Beyoncé they see — it's actually Leah Remini, the actress who played Carrie Heffernan on King of Queens.

Oops!

"Congratulations to Leah Remini on her wax figure at Madame Tussauds," one person on X tweeted.

Now, Leah herself is responding to the chatter about the figure.

Leah shared a photo of the figure on her own X account, and it looks like she's totally tickled by everyone's comments.

"I am screaming! And loving all the tweets! This perimenopausal woman will take any and all comparisons to the beautiful Beyoncé!" she wrote.

This isn't the first time a wax figure has come under fire.

Last year, a wax figure of The Rock debuted in a museum in Paris that disappointed many fans — and much like the criticisms of Beyoncé's figure, many pointed out that one of the biggest issues stemmed from the fact that he looked white.

Fortunately, after the backlash, the museum has said that it will "update" the figure so it looks more like the action star.

There's no word on whether Beyoncé's figure will receive an update.

We have to give Leah some credit for taking it all in stride. To be fair, being compared to Beyoncé in any context is always going to be a compliment — and considering that Leah is also beautiful, it's a compliment to Bey, too.

Here's hoping the museum is able to go back and fix a few things so fans can have the Beyoncé experience they hoped for when visiting.
