One of the telltale signs you've really made it in Hollywood is when a wax museum creates a statue of you. Some of them look impressively lifelike, and fans really seem to love posing with the wax versions of their favorite stars. And then there's the wax statue of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, which is getting a lot of attention … but probably not the kind that the museum hoped. This week, The Rock's statue was unveiled at a museum in France, and let's just say that people have a lot of questions.

The wax figure debuted at Musée Grévin in Paris.

Although it certainly seems like the museum got his large stature right, if we didn't know better, we would have no idea that this was supposed to be The Rock. Though his facial features do seem a bit off, the major discrepancy here seems to be his skin color; even though The Rock is Samoan and Black, his skin is quite a bit lighter here than it is in real life.
People did not hold back when it came to their reactions to the wax figure.
In the comments on the wax museum's Instagram post, people went in on this statue.
"That's not The Rock, that's The Pebble," one commenter wrote, while another added, "That's Vin 'The Rock' Diesel."
One person got right to the point: "Why’s he white? And when are you going to fix it?"
The Rock won a contest the museum hosted last year.
According to Euro News, it held the Grévin Awards in March 2022, allowing visitors to vote for the next celebrity who would be forever immortalized in wax at the museum. The Rock was the one who led with 48% of the vote, beating out stars including Ariana Grande, Elon Musk, Margot Robbie, and Zendaya.
Other figures at this museum are far more recognizable.
It appears the museum may have simply struggled to nail The Rock's appearance and skin tone, because other figures at the museum look a lot more like their real-life counterparts. Something definitely went wrong in the process of making The Rock, though.

So far, The Rock hasn't commented on the figure.
However, he has visited his wax figure at Madame Tussaud's in Las Vegas, and that one happens to look a lot more like the real deal. Maybe he'll end up checking out the French version next time he's in the country. We'd love to hear what he thinks about it …
