Brooklyn Beckham’s ‘Mama’s Boy’ Tattoo Is Officially Gone & the Timing Is Brutal

Brooklyn Beckham made waves in January 2026 when he shared a multi-part Instagram Story revealing that he is estranged from his parents, fashion mogul Victoria Beckham and former soccer star David Beckham. Much of the estrangement, he revealed, has to do with his 2022 wedding to actress and heiress Nicola Peltz and the way his family allegedly behaved.

He also outlined mistreatment by his family, and an alleged desire to retain control over him. Since the estrangement, he has made sure that people know where he stands regarding his family. And now, he is making it clearer by covering up tattoos dedicated to his parents.

He started the process over a year ago.

Page Six first reported about the tattoo being covered up in June 2025. He posed shirtless alongside his wife for Glamour magazine, and flowers appeared where the “Mama’s Boy” tattoo had been.

According to the outlet, the flowers are likely modeled after the ones from Nicola’s wedding bouquet.

He also allegedly covered up a large heart tattoo that read “Mum” on his shoulder, the outlet reported. It appears there is now a large flower and dragon tattoo in its place.

At the time, a source close to the embittered Brooklyn Beckham denied that he was intentionally covering up his tattoo.

“Anyone can look at the photo and see ‘mama’s boy’ is still right there, it was never covered up,” the source said.

But now, it is very clearly gone. USA Today reported that he recently shared a shirtless picture, and the words are completely covered up by the floral design.

The cover-up isn’t going to help ease tensions.

“Victoria will be understandably upset to see Brooklyn’s tattoo for her all but gone,” a source told Metro UK. “It’s another blow towards the family and a sign that things won’t improve between them any time soon.”

According to the outlet, the “Mama’s Boy” tattoo is one of Brooklyn’s earlier pieces of ink. It was first spotted in 2017.

But Brooklyn didn’t just cover up the tattoo honoring his mom. He has also covered up the tattoos paying tribute to David. Previously, he had an anchor reading “Dad,” as well as “1975,” which is David’s birth year.

A source told Metro UK in February that the elder Beckham was taking the snub as well as expected.

“David is obviously heartbroken over Brooklyn’s decision to cover up his tribute to him,” the source said. “It feels like a deep cut, even after everything that was said in his statement.”

Despite his son’s desire to erase the past, David still wears his tributes proudly. He has “Buster,” which is his nickname for Brooklyn, tattooed on his neck.

“As much as Brooklyn clearly wants to erase his family from his life, David still has his son’s nickname Buster proudly tattooed on his neck,” the source said.

According to multiple outlets, he admitted to having at least 70 tattoos honoring his wife. Notably, he has the word “married” on his left hand, her eyes on the back of his neck, and a portrait of her on his arm.

He still has his family last name stamped on his stomach in gothic letters, but also added her last name on his chest. When they married, the couple chose to hyphenate their last names.

Brooklyn also has his wedding vows tattooed on his arm.

“Nicola when you walked down the aisle you took my breath away you look so beautiful tonight and always. Let me start by saying that words cannot even describe my love for you just looking at you I see my future and it feels like a dream. You are my world and I continue to fall more in love with you every single day.”
