After recent reports claimed that the marriage between Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher is very “traditional” despite her celebrity status, it looks like the American Idol judge is embracing the backlash.
She showed off her new “granny chic” decor in a post on Instagram, revealing that maybe she doesn’t mind following traditions — and surprisingly, her critics are nowhere to be found this time.
Carrie has a seriously impressive pantry — especially if you love canned food.
Sharing a photo of her pantry, Carrie showed off her new, super colorful “granny chic” curtains — which, as you can see, are just about as granny as it gets — that hide her HVAC system, surrounded by dozens of glass jars of food that looks like she canned it at home herself, likely from the fruits and veggies she grows in her own backyard.
Carrie has always been proud of her farm lifestyle, and from this photo, it certainly seems like she walks the walk.
“Finally got my mixed granny square curtains up to hide the HVAC doors,” she wrote in her caption. “My eyes need to get used to them there…I might have reached my “granny chic” threshold. I don’t think I knew how ‘granny’ was too ‘granny’ until now. We’ll see if I leave them up or take them down, join them and make a throw.”
People couldn’t get enough of her setup.
Lucky for Carrie, grandma hobbies (including crochet) are very in right now, so despite the criticism she’s received in the past, this reveal actually seems to be winning some people over. In fact, more than one even said that she hasn’t taken the decor in her home granny enough yet.
“They’re perfect in that big space and the colors of the jars tie it all together,” one commenter wrote about the curtains.
Another one of Carrie’s followers said, “It’s a beautiful display! Granny or not it matches all of your canning jars. Great job!”
It’s been rough out there in the court of public opinion for Carrie recently, but this might be the thing that turns it all around for her. Who would have guessed?
This might confirm the rumors about her marriage and life at home.
In recent months, there has been a lot of buzz that Mike would rather Carrie be more of a traditional housewife than the touring musician and TV personality that she’s been since before they got married… something that supposedly causes a lot of tension in their marriage.
But if Carrie is leaning this domestic when she’s home, it doesn’t seem like Mike should have much to complain about. If she has enough time to can this much food (and possibly even crochet those granny squares herself), surely she’s fulfilling all the other stereotypical “wifely” stuff when she’s not performing.
