Astrology, which is rooted in the idea that the movements of the stars and planets can both predict and influence everything from personality traits to daily events, has been studied for literally thousands of years. And while there is still debate about whether astrology really started in China, Egypt, Greece, or ancient Mesopotamia, there is no debate about the fact that people still love to use birth charts and calendars to learn about the 12 zodiac signs and the personality quirks that are said to go with them.
As with any practice that isn't exactly rooted in science, there are always some folks who roll their eyes when people take astrology too seriously.
