16 Celebrities Who Welcomed Babies in 2022

2022 is almost over, which makes it the perfect time to take a look back on the year in celebrity news. As always, there were shocking moments (that slap at the Oscars, Kanye's many meltdowns), surprising splits (who knew Tom and Gisele were on such shaky ground?), and some major moments in music, TV, and movies (new tunes from Lizzo, Beyoncé, and Taylor — yay!). But the cutest and most delightful celebrity news is always when stars announce that they have welcomed a new baby.

Though a few celebs — including Chrissy Teigen and at least one of Nick Cannon's girlfriends — are still waiting to pop, it's been a busy baby year. From professional athletes to actors to reality TV stars, we've seen celebs grow their families in lots of wonderful ways, including surrogacy.

This roundup is a good reminder that love is what makes a family and that, yes, extremely good-looking people can sometimes make some awfully cute babies. While some celebrities have been annoyingly tight-lipped about key baby details (how is it that we still don't know what either Kylie or Khloé named their little guys?), we're sharing all that we know about the adorable new additions from some of our favorite stars.

Kylie Jenner

Michelle Kwan

Two-time Olympian Michelle Kwan became a mom at the age of 41 this year. Michelle, who usually keeps her personal life pretty private, couldn't help but gush on Instagram, writing, "I'm overjoyed and tears of happiness are streaming down my face as I share the news of the arrival of Kalista Belle Kwan! I've always wanted to be a mom and, to me, she's a perfect miracle. I had a hard time picturing what she might look like yet it seems like she's been in my life forever. This has been a challenging journey to motherhood (not to mention a very long labor!!!), and I'm glad I never gave up."

Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson made two big announcements this year. The first was that she'd found love with a woman and the second was that she'd become a mom. That is one amazing year. Little Royce was born in November, and Rebel excitedly shared the moment on Instagram: "I can't even describe the love I have for her, she's a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved (you know who you are). This has been years in the making … but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family — it's an amazing gift."

Ashley Graham

Model mama Ashley Graham doubled her baby joy in 2022 with the January birth of her twin sons, Malachi and Roman. She and husband Justin Ervin now have three boys under the age of 3, as the couple also has a son named Isaac. That's a lot of babies, but Ashley seems to be killing it!

Shay Mitchell

Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell became a mom for the second time in 2022. Her daughter Rome Babel was born in early June and was a bright spot in a tough year for Shay, whose beloved grandmother died in January. "Losing the most important person in my life in the same year I welcomed my second daughter has shifted everything for me, but one thing remains steady in my soul — I'm certain they spent time together and that brings me peace and joy," the actress wrote on Instagram. "We're so happy you're here, Rome, named after my best friend, my soulmate, my "person," my Grandma Romaine."

J.J. Watt

NFL superstar J.J. Watt and his pro soccer player wife, Kealia Watt, added a future sports star to their roster this year. Celebrating the arrival of son Koa James in October, J.J. gushed on Instagram, "Love and happiness have reached heights we never even knew existed."

Patrick & Brittany Mahomes

Could there be an NFL kid playdate brewing in the future? J.J. Watt wasn't the only big football name to welcome a baby this year. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, announced the birth of their second child, a son nicknamed Bronze, in late November. He joins big sister Sterling, who celebrated her first birthday in February.
