Having money and being famous may give you all the tools necessary to buy great clothes and hire a stylist, but that doesn't mean all celebs take advantage of that privilege. Some A-listers just can't be bothered when it comes to fashion — and others try too hard. The end result is the same — celebrities with no sense of style.
Men can often get away with not trying as hard, simply because they don't always actually care about style. But when you're a famous actor hitting red carpets or a singer on stage in front of millions of people — maybe try, we don't know, anything but a T-shirt?
As for famous women, the ones who hit the worst-dressed lists are often accused of trying too hard. After all, it was Coco Chanel who suggested removing an accessory before leaving the house. These ladies should perhaps have tried that method.
Better luck next time, folks.
Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler dresses like every other 54-year-old dad, which is fine — it's just not particularly fashionable. He loves a baggy shorts and T-shirt ensemble, and every once in a while he'll throw a button-down into the mix. Ultimately, it just looks like he doesn't really try when he gets dressed in the morning.
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran is like the younger, British version of Adam Sandler — in that they both just don't try very hard on the fashion front. Ed often plays his shows in jeans and a T-shirt, and meanwhile you have female singers like Ariana Grande doing multiple costume changes in the middle of their songs. You can do better, Ed. We know it.
Britney Spears
We know that Britney Spears has been going through a lot lately, so perhaps her sense of style just isn't at the forefront of her mind. Or maybe since it's about the only thing she has control over, she's using it to make a statement. Either way, Brit-Brit's still kind of dressing like it's the early 2000s, and it's just not.
Prince William
Look, we love Prince William. But his sense of style is boring with a capital B. He has enough money to look just as stylish as his wife, but all he ever seems to wear are blue suits. You can look professional enough for a business meeting and still not be fashionable. Mix it up a little, Will! You're already guaranteed the job!
Justin Bieber
Whenever Hailey and Justin Bieber go out, it's like, she is adorable and super chic, and Justin is, well, there. The singer tends to opt for a lot of hoodies, sweatpants, and beanies. Recently, he left the house while still dressed in his pajamas. Has anyone told the Biebs that he's not a teenager anymore?
Björk
Icelandic singer Björk has her own style when it comes to both her music and her fashion — and it's not for everyone. But while she's prone to making the lists of fashion don'ts, she at least seems pretty confident in herself and her style. Gotta respect that even if you don't love her swan dresses.
Perez Hilton
Perez Hilton is in his 40s now, and that feels a little old to be dyeing your beard green and wearing a T-shirt with photos of your face on it. It's too bad he hasn't picked up more style tips from his namesake. Paris Hilton's got that fashion game on lock. Perez Hilton is just … doing his own thing.
Mark Zuckerberg
Imagine being a billionaire and having all the money in the world for clothes — and then just choosing to wear a blue-gray hoodie, T-shirt, and jeans everywhere. That's literally Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The guy is still dressing like he's in college. Hire a stylist, Mark. You can definitely afford it.
Snooki
In all fairness to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, her style has definitely improved a lot since she was on Jersey Shore. And she's even given up on the pinned-back bangs poof she was known for. But a lot of her wardrobe still revolves around animal prints, and we just can't get behind that. Try a neutral, Snooki. You may like it.
Mickey Rourke
While we could present this look to you without comment, there's just too much going on that we do want to talk about. Actor Mickey Rourke's style is not great, to say the very least. Like this cropped cardigan and jeans situation. Someone tell him that low-rise jeans don't need to come back in style. We're good.
Kanye West
What's this? Kim Kardashian looking super glam on the red carpet and Kanye West wearing a T-shirt? For a man with a fashion line, Kanye's style is pretty drab. Even when he went to the Met Gala — the fashion event of the year — he could barely muster more than a casual zip-up jacket. That's not gonna cut it, Kanye.
Paula Abdul
Paula Abdul's fashion sense is just as quirky as she is. And while that seems to work for her — she appears to have a lot of fun with her outfits — it won't earn her the best-dressed title. At 5 feet tall, she also has to be careful that her clothes don't overwhelm her tiny frame, and she doesn't always get that balance down. She looks a bit like an ostrich in this getup.
Justin Timberlake
Honestly, Justin Timberlake showed the world who he was when he showed up to the 2001 American Music Awards in a denim suit. Sure, Jessica Biel probably learned how to wrangle him into a tux for most of his red carpet events now, but it's Justin's casual looks that still show off his lack of fashion sense. What is happening here with this hoodie coat? Stop the madness.
Helena Bonham Carter
We love Helena Bonham Carter as an actress. She's got amazing talent — just not at picking out clothes. She tends to gravitate to outfits with a lot of layers, and the end result is that she just looks weighed down by a pile of fabric. It's like she's cosplaying at her Sweeney Todd character in real life.
Marilyn Manson
Marilyn Manson's whole vibe is super overwhelming. He often wears bold red lipstick and dark eyeliner and then he loves a goth ensemble — all things black and leather and over-the-top. It's honestly just a lot. Like, he's made it his own, for sure. But that doesn't mean we have to like it.
