Chrissy Teigen Claps Back at Trolls Who Called Her Out for Soaking in Dirty Bathwater

People are calling out Chrissy Teigen for oversharing on social media (again). The model-turned-entrepreneur is very open about her life and experiences on social media, but some fans believe there are times when she goes too far. Chrissy generally doesn’t seem bothered by other people’s reactions — she understands that’s how social media works. Being a celebrity without much of a filter on social media means that you have to understand you’ll get backlash. And this time, people have big feelings about John and Chrissy letting their followers into their bathroom.

John captured Chrissy during an intimate time.

Chrissy’s husband, John Legend, recently shared a video of Chrissy in the bathtub while the couple are spending time in France for Cannes film festival festivities. She is actively bathing in the tub and carefully covering up her body while she scrubs her leg.

“What is happening here?” John can be heard asking while Chrissy washes herself.

It was very clever product placement.

“Getting all my body makeup off,” Chrissy explained as she scrubbed. John added that she was using an exfoliating body cleanser from his skin care line Loved01 to get her body clean.

“Sometimes you gotta exfoliate! @chrissyteigen’s favorite @loved01skin product,” John captioned the post. “@chrissyteigen getting that perfect summer glow with our exfoliating cleanser,” the Loved01 Instagram account replied.

People immediately commented to express their disgust at Chrissy bathing in “dirty” water and John sharing the video on Instagram.

“IDGAF if it is makeup. It looks dirty,” one comment read.

“This could’ve stayed in John’s phone,” one person wrote.

“It’s not too late to take this cringe down,” another person added.

“D— she needs to let that dirty water drain before posting on social media,” someone else shared.

A lot of people scolded John for posting the video.

“She didn’t have to sit in a bath tub of water to exfoliate her body … yuck. btw not everything is meant for social media!!” another person chimed in.

“@johnlegend this is very inappropriate and it’s puzzling that you allow your wife to cross every line !!!!!! SMH,” a commenter scolded.

“There used to be a day where a man would rather die a gruesome and slow death then post his wife half naked on the Internet. But aye! Your marriage,” another person wrote.

Some people came to Chrissy's defense.

Chrissy did defend herself with a comment of her own, writing, “the water is dirty because I’m getting my body makeup off, like I said in the video my sweet angels!”

After seeing her comment, others began to chime in and defend her as well.

“Once again this proves society and people react and comment without full context. Idc if you like it or not. She said what she was doing and people are commenting based of what the see vs what they hear and see. Context is key,” one commenter shared.

“She literally says, 'I’m getting all my body makeup off' and y’all are like 'why is the water so dirty???' Also this is a great way to promote his skincare line, Loved 1,” another person wrote.
