David Beckham Makes Strange Dig at Victoria’s Family During New Year’s Eve Celebration

David Beckham has a sense of humor and isn’t afraid to show it. The former soccer star hilariously roasted his wife Victoria Beckham over the weekend in a cheeky Instagram post that pokes fun at her "working class" upbringing. The couple enjoyed lunch with Victoria’s parents at a swanky eatery, and David couldn’t help but remind his followers that Victoria has always been Posh. The post’s caption was a reference to his 2023 documentary series Beckham, when Victoria tried to claim that she wasn’t always well-off financially.

Even Victoria's bag had a seat at the table.

On New Year’s Eve, the Beckhams had lunch with Victoria’s parents, Jackie and Anthony Adams, at The Ritz — which is just as swanky in London as it is here in the US.

"Just a nice casual New Year’s Eve lunch at The Ritz. @victoriabeckham Very working class," David joked in his caption. "My mother & father in law left in [their] Roll’s."

This is a callback to a conversation Victoria and David had in his Netflix docuseries.

In his 2023 documentary series, David called out his wife for claiming that she didn’t have a wealthy upbringing, just "parents who work really hard."

The scene went viral immediately because of the way David hilariously forced his wife to admit the truth.

Victoria admitted that may not be the whole truth.

"We’re very working, working class," Victoria told the camera.

David immediately poked his head into the room, telling his wife to "be honest."

"What car did your dad drive you to school in?" he prodded while Victoria tried to avoid answering the question.

"OK, in the ’80s, my dad had a Rolls-Royce," Victoria admitted.

David's followers appreciated the joke.

Fans on Instagram found David’s joke just as funny the second time around, telling him so in the comments.

"This comment will always be funny!" one person wrote.

"I had zero idea the Beckhams were all so self-effacing and funny!" another comment read.

Victoria turned her viral moment into fashion.

David isn’t the only one who had a sense of humor about Victoria’s childhood. The former Spice Girl turned fashion designer decided to cash in on her viral moment, creating a $150 T-shirt that reads, "My Dad Had a Rolls-Royce."

"I can’t fight it anymore," she said in a TikTok debuting the shirt.

At least these two know how to laugh at themselves!
