David Foster isn't a first-time dad, but he is in his 70s and raising a toddler right now with wife Katharine McPhee. And though it might not have been a conventional choice, in a new interview David is opening up about the upside to being a parent at his age when his child is still so young.
David has raised a lot of children
He says he is more patient as a father now
Being older and more experienced does come with its perks, according to David.
"I think that I can offer one thing to Rennie even though I won't be around when he's 50 or 40 even, or 30 maybe," he said. "I think I can offer him wisdom from my 72 years on the planet. And maybe that's not a bad trade-off. I hope so."
He and Katharine both seem over the moon to raise Rennie together
And meanwhile, Rennie is getting the awesome experience of having Katharine and David for parents … and all of the opportunities that might bring, especially if he ends up following in their musical footsteps!
At just 2 years old, though, he has a lot of time ahead of him to figure out what his passions in life will be.
This little guy is growing so fast
And though it's clear his parents try to maintain his privacy on social media as much as they can, we love when we catch a glimpse of him as he's getting bigger. There's no doubt that his mom and dad have quite a second brithday party planned for him next month!
