At this point, former President Donald Trump isn’t happy that Taylor Swift has publicly endorsed his political opponent, Kamala Harris, in the upcoming election; he hasn’t tried to hide that fact at all. But given just how upset he appears to be — and considering that, right now, Swift might be the most famous person on the planet — it seems possible that Swift’s already having a huge impact on the polls, and the experts seem to agree.

It all started when Swift posted in support of Kamala Harris last week.
In a post that has already amassed more than 11 million likes, Swift not only endorsed the Democratic presidential candidate, but also pointed to Trump as one of the reasons she decided to come forward about who she’s voting for this year.
“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” she wrote. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
Trump hasn't taken the news well at all.
During a call to Fox & Friends last week, Trump stated that he is “not a Taylor Swift fan.”
“It was only a matter of time,” he said of her support for Harris. “You couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Then, just days later, he shared a post on the Truth Social app that said simply, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Unsurprisingly, Trump's message isn't going over well with people.
Many are wondering why Trump would be this upset about a celebrity who’s been open about her disapproval of him publicly in the past won’t be voting for him this time around, and it appears that it may be because Swift’s endorsement is already having a major impact.
According to what ad tech business Nexxen told The Hill, Swift’s Instagram post has led to engagement around Harris online increasing by 250%, along with 100% more conversation about women’s rights and 150% more conversation about democracy in general.

It's not just Swift's endorsement that could hurt Trump — it's the way he responded.
Democratic strategist Andrea Riccio told the outlet that Trump’s current strategy isn’t helping. him when it comes to undecided voters or voters who may not bother leaving the house to vote, and with how close the election is, that could be a deciding factor in the way things go in November.
“When Trump attacks Taylor Swift, he does motivate her fans to come out and vote, but more importantly, he reminds undecided voters that he doesn’t stick to policy or have a serious approach to this election,” Riccio said.
She's already encouraging people to make a plan to vote this fall.
After the pop star posted a link to vote.gov on Instagram, more than 337,000 people visited the website, according to NBC News.
Of course, we won’t know for sure if Swift speaking out was enough to move the needle until November — and even then, it may still be unclear how much, if any, she helped Harris in the end. But at this point, it doesn’t sound like Trump is doing himself any favors coming out so strongly against her. Hasn’t anyone ever told him not to mess with the Swifties?
